Popular Post El Presidente Posted January 5, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2016 I am just finishing off the itinerary for this years FOH catchup in Cuba November The last FOH Cuba catchup was....well...more tham memorable This year we will be partnering some of the events with the AMICIGAR brotherhood. Love those guys/girls. They truly "get" that the core of cigars is friendship and laughter. I look forward to catching up with all of them again! The dates for this year will be the 19th (Saturday) to the 25th of November. It should coincide with the Encuentro de Amigos de Partagas. Our week is very much the "Anti Gala" week. Inexpensive events interspersed over the week that you can opt in and out of. I am a big believer in plenty of free time to do whatever you want to do capped off with a few beacon afternoons/nights where we can catch up all together. I will have the details posted up before the end of the month but the dates are fixed so if you are considering a trip to Havana this year....consider that timeframe if you would like to join us and lock it in now 6
skalls Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Was this where the infamous duck incident occurred last time? 1
madandana Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 You know Dana and I are in. Where do I send the check?
Popular Post Jeremy Festa Posted January 5, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2016 Awwwww shiiiiiiiit! Need to think about this. It will use up a tremendous amount of my brownie points/hall pass system, that my wife controls. Can I convince Smithy? Can you convince Smithy? I am saying yes. (read: maybe) I will deal with the repercussions. I am MAN. Here me ROAR. (read: whimper, beg, does all of the dishes) 11
ChanceSchmerr Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Prez, I am in for this. Permission has been granted. My first time to Cuba so i can't wait - count me in for all events! Just need to decide where to stay - should be easy as I'll be solo for the week!
... Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Had been thinking about thissince the 2014 venue... If all goes well, I'll join you guys in Havana ?
jat Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I've been carefully laying the foundations for this with the other half since the last event and now's the time to strike.
Habana Mike Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 All I can say is Dana will have a companion shopper with her this go round! 4
brschoppe Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I am looking at the 12 Categories of permissible travel for residents of the USA to Cuba. Wondering which one I could use to justify this trip... Professional research and professional meetings Educational activities Public performances, clinics, workshops, athletic and other competitions, and exhibitions Looks like Rob could make it work under all three above?
jwr0201 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Tempting, very tempting. Any advice on where to stay? Always wanted to go, not had the serious inclination until now.
Napa_Smokes Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Looks fun. I'll be trying to get the time off but since it's Thanksgiving week here in the U.S. I'm not sure if I'll be able to.
Habana Mike Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 The turkey in Cuba is almost as good as the duck so why not!
Randolph Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Sounds marvelous. Cuba is on my list and I may be given leave by Mrs B. Look forward to seeing the itinerary.
... Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Screw the lot of you! C'mon Mus, you know you want to try your luck at Cuba again... ?
El Presidente Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Any advice on where to stay? Always wanted to go, not had the serious inclination until now. I would recommend a Casa Particular located between the Nacional hotel and ocean side Miramar. AirB&B should bring up plenty of options. 1
WarriorPrincess Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Sorry I can't make it as someone has to keep working while Rob is "working".....well that is what he calls it Having a drink in your hand for every photo is the kind of job I think everyone wants Jeremy you may need to do more than wash the dishes every night to convince your wife 1
Jeremy Festa Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Sorry I can't make it as someone has to keep working while Rob is "working".....well that is what he calls it Having a drink in your hand for every photo is the kind of job I think everyone wants Jeremy you may need to do more than wash the dishes every night to convince your wife I think you are right. I snuck $500 into her purse this morning while I let her sleep in for an extra 2 hours. We are going up the coast this weekend and I have my parents looking after the kids, while we head to Spirit House. And after the dessert, I am going to get down on one knee (read: both knees) and pop the question. Dear gorgeous Melissa, Please, please, please, let me go to Cuba? 4
WarriorPrincess Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Good luck Jeremy and for the finishing touch I think a pair of shoes to match the handbag you got her last year should do the trick...well it would for me 2
