Well, guys, I am back from Cuba. Yes: cigars, booze, new and old friends, fun, laughs...

My last time there was in 2010. Some things have changed others not so much.

I'd like to thank you all that helped me to have this great time. In special for those who helped me contact Nino in Cuba. Things would have gone not so well without him.

Some pictures.

Well, there is no Dip Cuba to be seen in Cuba.

I've spent afternoons in some Casas and could see some people coming, asking and leaving without them.

Unfortunately many boxes haven't seen the light of the day since they arrived some Casas: they were all reserved to few customers. I heard that paying an extra coin you could reserve as well. Not my thing.

If in few weeks we see many low numbered boxes to be sold in some shops the above is true.

As a matter of fact a manager told me he received 25 boxes and they were all to the same client. 25 could be a split but I heard in some cases this number would be 100 boxes. A shame.

On Monday night I was gifted from a fellow member/brother with a stick so at least I wouldn't have left Havana without tasting it. Thanks, bro.'.

But, like I said, a manager arranged 2 boxes to me. No extra coin was paid.

Good guy. He had no reason to do it.

The customs could be found in all the Casas I visited.

Yolandas, Reynaldos, Alejandros.'. (a "boy" who is the roller in Comodoro - great cigars. I think we will hear a lot about him in the future), Migueles (Hector Finca), Juanitas...

Wow! Dip Exelencia! Nice! Congrats!

What r those custom rolled? Who?

All the Casas I visited have a resident roller. Even if he/she it not there, there are many in the humidor to be sold.

Yolanda (Melia Habana), Reynaldo (Conde de Villanueva), Alejandro (Comodoro), Miguel (Hector Luiz Prieto Finca) and Juanita (Melia Cohiba).

Sounds like you've had a grand time!

What I could see all over the places: 2014 and 2015 production of most major brands.

What I saw only in one (not necessarily the same) place: Quai D'Orsay Corona, RyJ Cedros de Luxe, Trini Fundadores, singles of HU 56, singles of RA Club Allones, Partagas Selección Privada, very few boxes of 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010 production, HU Royal Robusto, RA Superiores, Monte Especial #1 and #2, cabinets.

What I didn't see in any place: Behikes, Reservas, RE Cuba, Limitadas of any year (besides 2 boxes of Partagas Selección Privada).

Alex is very good. I have smoked a couple of his behike 52. they smoke better young than juanita's rolls in my opinion.

Wow...it seems that Regional Edition Diplomatico releases (Bushido and Excelencia) have quickly become the (1940's and 1950's) El Rey del Mundo of the modern age! Thanks for posting!

Weird. I was there just a few days before you and saw Behikes, Boli LE, Partagas LE, RA LE, and a few boxes of Dip RE.

Glad you had a good time, I am lucky enough to have some of Juanita's custom rolls in the humidor courtesy of Nino, he's a top man !

Good to know.

I arrived in Havana Wednesday night and was in the stores Thursday morning. There were none.

Did you see many Dip RE??

I hit about 12 different shops. The only place that had any for sale was Melia Habana. Partagas had a bunch on hold for a few clients attending the Amigos festival.

I arrived few days before the Encuentro in order to find some boxes that I knew would disappear. It was not enough.

I think its more because the Cuba RE's are always in high demand outside of Cuba, so they have a very high resale value on the secondary market and any retailers who carry them can place a decent mark up on them

The Bushido was designed with the Asian Regions in mind who demand a larger format stick with a lot of flash.

The fact the Bushido was also 12 months late (only adding to the hype) hasn't helped either, but I'd be surprised if the entire allotment of 2000 boxes has actually fully shipped yet. Prez could probably comment on the box numbers he's seen but I wouldn't be surprised if the next shipment he receives is numbered above the 1500's

i would be surprised if half of the 2000 Bushido bxes have been produced. We will get a decent allotment in a few weeks. We have not been told the "definition" of "decent" lmao.gif

Smoked a recent jorge geniales/sobersalientes from club Havana the other day. Flashes of brilliance but needs some time. Ill smoke my 2013 monsdale instead at the moment.
