We have seen some cracking Churchills this year in terms of quality, blend and construction. Admittedly not to many 2015 Sir Winston/SLR Churchills but enough to gauge.

From your experience, what has been the stand out choice for Churchills this year?

Use the poll and feel free to expand here ok.gif

I had to throw a vote for the Bolivar Coronas Gigantes. I've been fortunate to have a few of each cigar listed in this poll and honestly they are all excellent. The Sir Winston and Eplendito are in a class of their own, but are also in a price range of their own (especially the Esplendido).

The Bolivar and the R&J are around the same price point, but to me the Boli wins hands down.

I just had another BCG today (ESO OCT 14 - HQ Grade) and WOW, what a treat.

Bolivar leather and earth swirled in with bits of creamy coffee, chocolate, butterscotch and honey

At a couple points it actually tasted like eating a piece of Bit-O-Honey candy

Excellent burn and construction throughout. As you can see I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Do yourself a favor and pick some of these up when you get a chance!

Cheers,

I also concur on the BCG. The Sir Winston is a better cigar, but the BCG was the much bigger surprise this year for me.

Being new to cigars I haven't tried any of these but I can't wait to. Most of all I really would love to try a sir winston. I've heard so many good things about them and absolutely love Upmann so I can't wait to try one.

After after this thread I've also got the BCG on my list of "must trys".

Looks like I have to try one of the BCG's from my ESO SEP 14 box...

Keep in mind they still have a rough edge but I think these will be kilker once totally refined.

Sounds good brother.

No rough edges on the UME ABR 15 Cohiba Esplendido, which really surprises me... Am I the only one who received one of these boxes?

Voted for the RyJ as the best all-around Churchill, with price considered. Love me an Esplendido but their price/performance factor is...a factor. Winnies have not been available so they are out. BCG are rough around the edges for me. RyJ Churchills have been magnificent; well-balanced, nuanced, well-made and with a fascinating evolution in 3 or 4 parts over the course of an hour and 40 minutes. The word 'enchanting' comes to mind, with something new always around the next curve as you go.

I would have to go with the recent RyJ Churchills. They've been absolutely amazing and really enjoy them. If price wasn't being considered, it'd hard not to put the Esplendido right up there, if not on top.
