foursite12 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 If this has already been discussed on here, my apologies, but wondering if el presidente and others have thoughts to share on the dismissals at habanos s.a.?

Ryan Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I presume you mean this http://www.cigaraficionado.com/webfeatures/show/id/maique-other-officials-dismissed-from-habanos-18315 Lots of rumours, I'm not going to repeat them. This kind of thing seems to happen every 5 years or so. Nobody really knows the reason outside of the people who did the firing. Everything else is an educated guess.
SCgarman Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 All I can say is Hamlet has no regrets leaving. He loves living in the US. He told me this himself and I could not be happier for him and his family
Maplepie Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Yeah - that'll happen! I normally purge more after a few of those awful Non-Cuban powerhouses. But it's happened to me on Habanos, too!
brschoppe Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Question for the ignorant. As I have never lived in a communist country, what happens if you get fired from your job in a communist country? I wouldn't think it one of those things where you could walk down the street to go from Company A to Company B. I remember hearing the Soviet leaders moving up and down the ranks but you never heard of one getting fired. Fired seems like such a free market thing.
CaptainQuintero Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I think it wasn't so much as you could put no effort into your work because you were guaranteed a job and wage. More so, if you didn't meet your targets you got sent to a gulag. An equally strong motivation as a wage I'd guess. 1
