Being new to smoking, I have noticed this only a few times. Does anyone know as the cigar burns, what those little white dots are that appear on the ash? I wish I had some photos to post, but I've seen it maybe a handful of times.

Oh man. Wait till Rye sees this thread. He has some theory about fairies and magical fairy dust.

But I think it is a result of certain minerals within the cigar leaves. Some say magnesium.

Do they look more like tiny white bubbles? I believe that's symptomatic of a high mineral content (maybe magnesium?) in the soil.

That's exactly what it looked like. I do remember enjoying the smoke as well. Not at all off-putting.

I think most folks agree that 'tooth' on a cigar wrapper derives from the mineral composition of the terroir. That said, what mineral causes the tooth (Mg!?!) is up for some debate. Either way, I'm going with mineral deposits; final answer.

I've always understood these to be oil pockets in the cured leaf. Still don't know whether that's true or not.

I've had a fair few, CC and NC, with the magic lucky dots. Usually quite good smokes at that.

Don't know what they are or why they're there but do like to see them.

To echo another user on here, I understood it to be an extra amount of magnesium in the soil of the leaf, though can't point to a scientific source for that. I'd echo Habana Mike in that most smokes I've experienced this with have been delicious. Most prominent for me is RoMa Craft Tobac's Intemperance BA XXI Intrigue/A.W.S. - excellent cigars.

Got these on a Romeo Romeo De Luxe today

You can see the precursor tooth on the wrapper pretty well....

This represents what I'm talking about

Looks like it corresponds to the teeth in the wrapper from your picture.

Is this really the name of a cigar?

Two cigars, Intrigue and A.W.S. - Roma Craft Tobac is the company, Intemperance BA (Brazilian Aripaca) XXI is the line.

Good smokes!
