Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 1, 2015 Popular Post Posted June 1, 2015 Di and I both love cooking and we took the chance with her sisters Lisa and Lucy + husbands Frank and Grant to take a weekend away for a night on the drink (Saturday) and a Thai cooking class in Sunday at the "Spirit House" restaurant. Spirit House is a beautiful place and perhaps the best Thai food in the state. We had an absolute ball working under chef kelly preparing each of the dished from scratch befroe enjoying them for a late Sunday lunch with plenty of great wine. I cook pretty much daily as it is one of the few things that relaxes me fully after a busy day. Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Thai...it really doesn't matter. A glass of wine and a cigar while cooking away on the grill is one of the joys of life. I am sure the foodies aming us agree 5
LordAnubis Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Give up the tobacco peddling mate... open up a restaurant! 2
MIKA27 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Give up the tobacco peddling mate... open up a restaurant! I'll second that.
Popular Post santela Posted June 1, 2015 Popular Post Posted June 1, 2015 I'll second that. I'm completely against that! Keep tobacco peddling, AND open up a restaurant. 5

JohnS Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Rob, you look like you're wasting away! Maybe we need to teach you some good 'ol Southern cookin'? I was marvelling myself how he looks more taut and trim in every updated photo on this forum lately! It must be those gym workouts in the mornings! Congratulations the both of you Rob and Di on your love of fine food, especially Asian Cuisine. I concur that fine food, wine and company is hard to beat!
Stanislaw Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 wow, it's so great to see you guys enjoying life whenever possible.... this is the sort of post that I think of when I'm on a cramped, humid subway train heading into a city that will step over you if you are too slow on your feet and I think, "there's got to be a better life out there...." at least in NYC we have some pretty great thai food.... heheheh... 1
Quint Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Very nice, I see you were practicing mise en place when preparing your meal Love cooking as well, I do 95% of the cooking at home and also have been into smoking last few years. I've often thought about a couples cooking class with the wife, even though she's not into it like I am she's game.
perkinke Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 That looks fantastic! My girlfriend and I love cooking together, I'll have to see if I can find something like that for us to do.
tmac77 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Looks awesome Rob and a great experience to boot. I did a similar thing once while down in Mexico at a place called the little Mexican cooking school.
