What are your thoughts on Cohiba Piramides Extra?

Not much discussion on these. Just wondering what people think of them and how they are smoking lately.

I have only 1box so small sample but they taste great. honeyed oats. very classy. so far 1 from the box was underfilled very badly not f. good enough for such an expensive cigar but that's cuba i guess

Never sprung for a box but have been enjoying singles here and there. They are nice but the Lanceros or Coronas Especiales are much better and cheaper to boot.

The few that I have had, I've been less than impressed. Not worth the price of admission in my view. But that's coming from a guy who prefers smaller, shorter vitolas. I do love Cohiba, but the pyramid seems lighter in profile than the others. Maybe my sampling hasn't done them justice. I have one more resting in the humidor, its getting one more chance before my final call.

I sprung for a box recently and was wondering what age people recommend to smoke these? Is it 5+ years like most Cohibas?

picked up a box when they were first released just started smoking them ..very average..

Picked up a box PSP a few months back smoking them now very good, I think if you can get hold of quality Monti 2 and Upmann 2 and even Partagas 2 I have a PSP in each , they are ahead of the Cohiba Piramides .

LUB MAY 14 Upmann #2 is the best piramid going, at the moment. Better, to my taste, than recent PSP Monte #2s.

I'll agree with this. I've finished 1 box so far and have just ordered 2 more LUB May 14's which are on the way as I type this. Although I'm sure there are plenty of boxes of CPE's out there that surpass the LUB May 14 Upmann no.2's, I just don't and won't have any experience with them. And that's the thing with Cohiba's for me, with the recent price increase along with the already higher cost of this marca, they usually only get one chance to show me their best attributes. If there were more consistency and the quality comensurate with their price tag I'd be more apt to give some examples a second or third try, but that's not the case. There are just too many other great cigars with great boxcodes skewed to the far right that I can always find a more attractive cigar/smoking experience for my money.

Interesting. I just picked up some LUB May 14 H.Upmann No.2's and I currently have a ULA Dic 13 Cohiba Piramide Extra box resting. I look forward to comparing these later in the year.

Tony, I, too, have two more LUB MAY 14 Upmann #2s on the way. I had my second CORO MUO from Rob's 24:24 a month, or so, ago the other night and have to say that the CORO is, arguably, better. It's a little more nuanced, with the best of that classic CORO essence- without 5 years of age. Your mileage may vary...
