Ashton vsg padron anni illusione's Oliva or other suggestions vs some monte 2 double edmundos parti 2's or Epi 2's. I'm stuck! Also some private msgs about the finer points of Canadian shipping fr abroad would be appreciated. Cheers

you should smoke what you like. personally, I don't buy nc's anymore because I strongly prefer the nuances of Cubans. cant go wrong with rob choosing for you.

*I still love BOTH! 2thumbs.gif Some NC's like the Padron 45th Family Reserve, Oliva V Melanio, and the Tatuajes really, REALLY DO IT for me. On the other hand, my heart does and still belongs to LCDH's, FOH, and Mitchell Orchant Seleccion delights from 90 miles south of Florida! Can't be beat, just can't be beat! daydream.gif

While you're in the US do what we here must do when buying locally, which is buy NC cigars. But just a few.

Try some of the more boutique lines beyond those you mention. Ask around and you may find a few gems.

Otherwise save the rest for what you know and love.....

I only have 4 types of NC's left in my humidor, 1 box of AF Anejo #77 shark (gift from fiancée), 1.5 boxes of AF Anejo #49, half a jar of Tatuaje Black. Half a dozen Illusione Lanceros.

Only you can make that decision! There is nothing wrong with Non Cubans, if you like them buy them and smoke them! The majority of my cigars are Cuban, however, i still have a relatively large collection of fantastic Non Cuban Cigars in my humidor. which i purchase and smoke regularly. Your palate is different to mine, and everybody else on this forum. Buy what you want, smoke what you like, and enjoy!

What has my attention right now is "Can I smoke it now?" I've had some amazing CC experiences from a sampler, only to by a box and realize I have to put it up for a year or two...or three. When I buy my favorite NC, Flor de Las Antilles, I can rest it a couple of days and enjoy immediately. Once they are aged nothing can come close to a CC in my opinion. Any CC that can be enjoyed young has plenty of NC competition out there.

Forget where any of them come from and concentrate on what kind of profile you want. Whatever sounds most appetizing, pursue a box along that profile.

I recently wanted small cigars and realized that while I love CCs, what I really lacked in my humidor and had a hankering for were little dark earthy flavor bombs... so I picked up some Papas Fritas on super sale.

Bottom line is forget where they come from, but what sounds the meat to your palate. You don't smoke the country of origin...

Those really nicely made cylindrical things that come in different colors and are all packed up in shiny boxes... THOSE ARE CIGARS? Come to think of it, they do kinda look like cigars! The problem is they don't really taste like cigars to me!!!

Who would'a known? I thought those were crayons!

Recent Illusiones with the TABSA factory stamp on the box have been far above the ones previously made at Raices Cubanas. So much so Im smoking at least 2 a day. CCs of course are still smoked daily as well so make your choice or split it up. As far as NC definitely Illusione.

As another suggested, buy what you like, smoke what you like :) Can't go wrong with NCs/CCs if you buy what you like :)
