forgop Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I've got so many cigars now that I can literally go a couple of months without repeating the same cigar at the rate in which I smoke. I got to thinking-I'm about 90% certain that even if I don't buy another cigar today, I'll be smoking 20+ year old cigars when my humidor is empty. I guess I better pick up the pace. 1
LordAnubis Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Lets say 30 boxes in my humidor, 10 boxes in online locker, so 1000 sticks all up (wow that's a small number!!!) Lets round up to 2 cigars a week on average. That makes 9.6154 years worth of smoking stock. 2
sighuber Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I've been thinking about asking the same question. I'm at about 10 yrs of stock. I keep saying it's time to just go into maintenance mode but that does not seem to working very well at the moment....
rtrimbath Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I have around 725 cigars at the moment. I would be good for the next 7 years without purchasing another cigar, but that's not going to happen.
Fuzz Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I asked myself the same question, but also about wine (averaging 2 bottles per week). I'm going to be smoking and drinking for many years to come! 1
Surucipe Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Geez, and here I was thinking that I was well stocked with 3-4 years worth of cigars.
Danston Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Im currently at 0 til my next order arrives , time to build the stock up my humidor has been empty far too long.
EuroTrash Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Im in critical alert right now... down to maybe a hundred sticks rough guess. Depending on the weather that will last three or four months. Time to buy.
Sophistic Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 a year. i smoke mostly young montes, so it makes no sense to load up.
tjohn7 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Based on current consumption I could last for about 11 years. No chance I stop buying though haha
Troels Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 420-450, thats about three years worth - gotta get some more!
Popular Post Geaux Posted February 24, 2015 Popular Post Posted February 24, 2015 About 70 years . Derrek Ha. Not to be morbid or anything - but you are at a point where you either need to step up the amount you smoke, or somebody else is going to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I've been to a couple of estate sales where a big collection of cigars are up for auction. Always makes me think, the poor guy was probably saving some of these for a special occasion... Sober reminder to enjoy each day. 7
DWC Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Maybe enough for 5 years. I've been recently giving some thought to cutting my smoking in half. That way I instantly gain another 5 years of stock. ;-}
alloy Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 150 cc's. 35 nc's. At two a day, About two and a half months.
cdfarrar Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 At the rate of 2 a day looking at 9 years give or take a week. That is not including the cigars out for delivery(2 cabs/4 boxes 25ct & and splits pending).
sanity Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I have enough for about 3 years with the frequency I currently smoke. That has the potential to double rather quickly being a part of this forum. I would like to have about 5 years worth of stock. Would allow me to have a good rotation that supports aging.

Shopping for cigars is more than half the fun ... Taking care of my babies figures prominently too . Still buying ... Fer more than 20 years now . Derrek
Fosgate Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I'm fortunate that I own my habit maybe in part because of winter. I try to be a good boy and smoke only one or two sticks a month. Current stock I could make it a year or two if it was just constant winter. Currently I will be lucky to make it through summer with my present stock.
