Why can't all that beautiful snow dump here where we can handle it?

I feel bad for those areas hit so hard and so fast, but man, would we ever have a ton of fun if that hit here right now!

That's my former home town. Glad I moved to Florida! I will say this, buffalo folk are tough nosed. They'll pull through with many stories to tell over brew and cigars.

Happens every year here, not that big a deal to most that live in the area. Inconvenient....yes, for those of us that work or have to travel through the area but I get sick of the media coverage, politicians and everyone elses mug I see on TV before I will be sick of the snow.

I hear yah. There's a small river that floods regularly near me and the news crew go down by the river with their rubber boots on to report from the flooding river lol it's a joke. Glad to hear ya'll are safe tho.

My family is all from Buffalo, so we're used to the heavy snow. Not to say that I enjoy it, just I'm used to it. Give me Florida and 72F any day of the week. haha

I hear you. I cant count how many years we have communities with communities without power for months and buried in snow and life goes on. I remember winter of 96 we had record snow falls. Snowbanks as tall as 50ft trees, National Guard was out all winter as engineer units used their earth moving tanks and other equipment to clear roads to stranded farmers. F-16's were used to find one womans heat signature during a storm that she was stuck in for 3 days. Several people I worked with spent their winter in a hotel. Barely heard much about it on the news.

Three days in a row our snow plough guy has come through to plough our driveway. Our recycling was not picked up because it was buried in snow overnight. They come so early, we always put it out the night before.

We are 1.5 hrs north of Toronto in a small snow belt near ski hills called Blue Mountain. No where near crisis and our dog loves it.

But significant.

Snow plows are a love hate relationship. They always come by after you cleared the driveway and bury the end in heavy snow. My brother has to replace his mailbox every year because the plow hits it every year.

Reinforced concrete and steel I-beams will fix that.

Wow! My family is from South Cheektowaga... but we moved to Michigan in '91.

Are you simply following me around? If so, I'll see you in middle Tennessee shortly!

And for the record, I miss the winter.
