Dbone Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 So if you were just starting out, and there are some on here who are, what are the ten cigars (or boxes) you MUST have in the humidor to feel as if you have a respectable collection? I wouldn't say, myself, there are must haves. Oddly enough, there are usually a handful of cigars each year that come out of production shining like a star. The following year, month, week, that torch will pass to another, and around and around it goes. Blends do change to meet the standard and it's very dependent on how good the crop is, or isn't. I'll just say this, price in no way equates value (flavor). The only must haves are cigars you do enjoy, if they're being discontinued. Grab them up before they become difficult to find.

I keep having them and they just make me feel older.
Baldy Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Have a great birthday Ray! I just had one of them on Tuesday. Not sure what all the hype is about them. I keep having them and they just make me feel older. You look it! My respectable list is NO Guants, NO Quintero, NO Troya and some very select NC. Otherwise most any Cuban will do, the more the merrier. Single band, double band, fat band, or marching band doesn't matter. This should account for all future taste changes, moochers, and global warming. 1
maxcjs0101 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 As im on a budget (most of the time), my most often smoked cigars are - JLPs ( Brevas/Cazadores depending on time constraint) - Quorums ( Coronas, Petit Robusto. The Coronas are good btw) - Quintero (Brevas, nice mild cigar with nutty toasted tobacco) - Machine rolled like Handelsgold No.1 And occasionally H.Upmann Majestics or Party Shorts. And if i have an enjoyable birthday which is coming soon, i'll probably be having a H.Upmann Mag 50 or a Cohiba Pyramides for the first time.

Been trying to smoke up all my NC's to make room for more CC's but there will always be a bundle of QC's in there.

Of course... some more than others. There's no doubt that Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 wll be mentioned more times than Romeo y Julieta Belicoso. One might as well just put up a poll on HSA's entire inventory and have people vote on which one they think is best. Agreed J.. Maybe I should start that poll lol
Maplepie Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Wowza! way to revive the thread, John!! Didn't know it turned into a "HB Ray" thread... I didn't know we named out pigs, let alone celebrate their birthdays. It just makes it a bit too sad when they eventually go down on that killing floor. Agreed J.. Maybe I should start that poll lol Hi, Dan! Welcome back into the swing of things!! I have something for you. Catch up in PM so we don't bother the lovely FoH crowd
