El Presidente Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 i have have received three recommendations on recent R&J Belicoso. I have scheduled them for an upcoming vid review. For those that have had them recently (and 2012-2014 stock), have they indeed risen from the dead? 1
Rye Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Very dark red and oily wrappers lately. Great flavours but need a bit of age to come out
Maplepie Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 A cigar i've never had and have never heard much about (unless it's to talk about how they're never talked about ). Your last thread on this one never garnished as much attention as the other cigars you were posting about that month. Perhaps with good reason? ksblazer Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I haven't smoked one recently either. Seems to be one that never gets much talk either. Seems like the recent Romeo's have been pretty good. so I'm curious to see how the review turns out on these.
Puros Y Vino Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Never heard anything great about them. I'm intrigued though.
shlomo Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 These are simply gross. Last one I had was last year sometime, and I'm not willing to try any more for a very long time. With the BBF and La Punta smoking so well over the past decade, there is no reason to hunt for what might be a decent belicoso, but chances are will make me sick. 1
dowjr1 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Oh man I had one this past summer and loved it. I ordered it as a single and sat on it for probably a year. Been looking for a box.
trader1974 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I had one not long ago. Not a very impressive stick and nothing I would seek out again.
Oscar300 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I got three to sample years ago........still have two left. Foul.
El Presidente Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Oh they were repulsive. Trust me, I wouldn't have put them on the review list if it weren't for some members who have told me to revisit the 12's 13's as they are a different beast. We will find out soon enough
Shikar Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Awaiting this review. Just picked up a box from the 24:24 today to try. Regards.
KB24 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I'm the proud new owner of the last PSP box from the recent 24:24. Told myself that if these were ever available in PSP, I would grab them. Anxiously awaiting the review. Thanks
ksblazer Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Just curious from you guys that have smoked any recently thought of them? Are they still far behind in the RyJ line up? Or are they purchase worthy?
atlharp Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Just curious from you guys that have smoked any recently thought of them? Are they still far behind in the RyJ line up? Or are they purchase worthy? The question is how much do you like the Romeo flavor profile? I think the Belicoso is probably one of the best cigars in their line, but it is contingent on really liking that Romeo flavor. It's been a while since cell I had a Romeo Bel. but I remember that the flavor from it was reminiscent of sweet tea. They are usually found at a decent price too which is a bonus. If you are uncertain on the Romeo's in general I would grab a box of their Petite Coronas first and see if that works for you.
purpleloki Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Received an RyJ Belicosos EAG SEP 2013 in a sampler. Didn't have any of the RyJ flavors that I love at all. Maybe I should have let it age for another year but wont be trying one again anytime soon.
ksblazer Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Thanks for the reply's I have had a few RyJ Beli's over the years and was a bit underwhelmed by them. Was hoping to hear that they may have been better since I've heard quite a bit of good feedback on some of the other recent RyJ's. That and I do like the belicoso.
