I have a secret note to be delivered to my wife so she can call Rob/Dee. First she will be SUPER pissed when she realizes how many boxes of cigars I have...then she will be thrilled when she realizes

Have a plan in place if something happens to you, so whoever you leave behind knows what to do. A name and a phone number to contact to get them sold is all that person should need.

I've seen cigars sell in estate sales, usually for a fraction of what they would get if there were only two people in the room who knew what they were bidding on.

I actually do have contingency plans written in my will, in the event of my death.

You know, in all honesty a 1000+ cigars thrown in your lap. Do you get the humidor? Come on, CC or not that's pretty f#cking cool man. I bet the old guy had a good handle on things when it came to socking them stogies away. I can't help but feel for him though. Collecting all that just to die and miss out. If you get them I would smoke a few in the ol' boys honour for sure. It would be the right thing to do.

I have been in Florida for almost 10 years now and have seen more fake Cubans then I could count. Chances are that they are all NC's but hope for the latter.

For someone who has a collection of thousands of cigars, I don't think he's gonna fall for some "relatives in the factory" story. Most likely they'll be NCs, if you r lucky then some real Cubans. I wouldn't worry about getting fakes.

Best of luck, nothing to loose here. Hopefully the cabinet has not been watered to much and you won't stumble upon a bunch of fluffy white sheepish moldy sticks :)

Fully agreed earlier - "glass half empty" is always the case with some lately. Can't get through a week of posts without some pointing to the blatently negative, bitching and moaning about something.

Regardless of that, best of luck, condolences to her and the family, and good on you to do what you can to help them out. And yes, please keep us all updated - inquiring minds want to know!

Agreed wholeheartedly.

Same here. A bit of an "emergency plan / steps to follow" addendum to mine, helping Erin (or whomever) to get in contact with the right people and get things sorted out. We had to sit down and get all this stuff figured out a bit ago, when I had to get end-of-life needs pre-prepped just in case, due to work. They make you fill out forms, sit down with people, and get all bases covered.

Morbid or not, it's kinda like having life insurance - you hope it's not used, but if it's needed, you want the family to be taken care of to as high a level as can be.

What happens to the FOH locker's content when I am no more is something I have been wondering about...

I have instructions to have Rob liquidate my stock and pass the funds to my heirs, as well as who to contact to help with pricing and liquidation of my home collection.

Hope that's not necessary for a very long time to come.
