I don't know why, but I've never smoked a RyJ. For some unknown reason, it's a marca I've shied away from. But I figure it's time to try them. If nothing more than to expand my horizons a little more.

I like smaller rg's (usually 42 and under) and there are just soooo many to choose from in the smaller sizes. Does anybody have recommendations of where to start ? Any in particular to stay away from?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Hey Dan! Welcome back to the forum :).

Burn yourself on something again? ;)

on the RyJs, i'd steer clear of at least 75 % of them. I'm staying on the hopes that HSA will start discontinuing most of them.

There are many other small cigars out there that are better, too.

That wasn't me with the burn. It was a newer member and jr pyro. I've been blessed with no accidents. Things don't always go as planned, but I haven't been hurt. (yet?)

The RyJ's that sound ok are Cazadores, PC's, and Romeo tubo's? from what I've gleaned from old posts. Mille Fleur are ok for the price?

I've never smoked long filler RyJ but have gone through a 'coronita en cedro' box afew years back. Not too bad but nothing great either. So many bad reviews of RyJ across the web...

I have bought some PC from the last 12:12 and will likely them out in 2019 or so innocent.gif

I would stay clear of most of them, I found a box of 10 year old Petit Coronas which are quite nice, the fresh ones are not comparable unfortunately

Half the fun of this hobby is exploring cigars you haven't tries before, certainly don't avoid whole sections of cigars because someone else doesn't like them!

RyJ has a huge range of flavours, from sticky sweet fruits right to dry and herbal. You'd be doing yourself a disservice by not trying them. The price of the smaller RyJ cigars are such that you can grab a couple of singles of each and end up with nearly 20 cigars to work you way through and see what tickles your fancy.

The smaller RyJ cigars are pretty much what gives Cuba a chunk of it's sales in Europe, have fun exploring why they are so popular instead of relying other peoples tastes.

Mille Fleur

Cedro 1, 2 and 3

Tubo 1, 2 and 3

Coronitas

Sport Largos

Reg de Londres

Princess

Petit Princess

Its the journey not the destination ;)

I agree on the Mille Fleur. I also keep 3-4 boxes of these in stock. As far as the other small RyJ go, not a big fan but as always tastes are personal.

I have a box of belvederes pbs may 08 that are quite nice. Works well after a smaller or lighter breakfast with a cappuccino.

Another vote for the Mille Fleur. These are one of my "go to" cigars and I always have some on hand.

I've been wanting to try the Sports Largos, but quite hard to find outside of Europe. Anyone have much experience with these?
