imangelo Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Cool video showing a master roller from the H Upmann factory rolling a Torpedo live 4
Smallclub Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 He's not very fast… Of course he's not under pressure…
imangelo Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 He's not very fast… Of course he's not under pressure… Haha, yes. He was not in a rush. I had the pleasure of smoking one that day and I believe he rolled 40 (the max they were doing) over the course of a few hours.
SMQQKIN Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I'm a marketing guy so please don't hold that against me... Can someone in the know tell me why the Cuban tobacco industry doesn't market their best rollers differently? I would think that aficionados would pay a premium for boxes that were rolled by their superstars. Give them the best tobacco & let them do what they do best & charge a premium.
LLC Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 They stopped their star rollers from traveling because they were becoming the focus where Habanos wants the cigars to be the star, not the roller. Similar to Acura many years ago changing from cars with a name to random letters. People would say they have an Integra and now instead of saying I have an ILX they say I have an Acura. Problem solved.
Dbone Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 That was fun to watch, thx. How were the cigars? Freshly rolled cigars seem to have a unique magic quality to them, I do enjoy.

They were EXCELLENT. I'm a big fan of fresh rolls...totally different experience and great if smoked right away.
LordAnubis Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 He's not very fast… Of course he's not under pressure… Go on master, show us a video of you doing a better job. You obviously know how to do a better job since you can judge. 1
LordAnubis Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Interesting how he didn't use a mould at all. Was the draw and everything good? Did you notice it was a different weight or anything to a normal cigar? Thanks for the vid And most importantly... id you give it a shot???
Grahamsant Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I love watching them being rolled. So impressive!
Strada Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 This is Lazaro Miranda. He is in charge of production at H.Upmann nowadays. Everytime I got to Havana I spent some time with him and his lovely girlfriend! He was at LCDH Mtl last year and we had a few events with him. Good guy. His customs weren't the preetiest but the tasted really sweet when fresh. I still have a few to test out next November to see how they eveolved with time. H.Upmann Connoisseur A tasting event with him when they had just come out: Rolling at the Lcdh Mtl 2

What's the matter with you? Why the agressivity? Did I criticized him? Have you ever seen rollers in cuban factories, where they must roll 100+ cigars a day?
