cigarsdelcuba Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Hands down Beirut Duty Free - Largest La Casa Del Habanos in the world. 4
finecigar Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Another vote for Beirut- incredible selections for an airport!
kwsaw63 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Not been to Beirut but Dubai has a great selection at fantastic prices.
hanhan Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Beirut is the best, Dubai is the 2nd in my book and more accessible through international routes because its a hub. Picked up a box of Punch Monarcas there just a month or two ago. AFAIK the only airport that has 2 specialist shops, both LCDH affiliated if I remember correctly.
StingMeadery Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 How about a top 5 airport based duty free guys? ...I have a friendly air hostess based in Dubai. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dangolf18 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 The one in Tel Aviv isn't too shabby...but then again, I've only been to a limited number of duty free shops since I started smoking cigars. CDG is awful. ZRH has a pretty decent selection. Prague airport sucks. Tel Aviv always has a great selection and for aged cigars, I'd have to go with Marseille (picked up a box of '01 Principe 2 years ago). 1

I went through Marseille earlier this year and the selection was very pedestrian. Maybe they've been cleared out of aged stock or I was unlucky?
tippexx Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 The one where times against you, you've spotted something that most on here would give their eye teeth for, and your wife's wandered off with the boarding cards and tickets. RA 898 Palma Airport four years back! 3

RA 898 Palma Airport four years back! LOL! Which is why I always hold on to my own passport & boarding card! 1
liuzzi Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 The ones I frequent all have very small selection or no selection at all (Helsinki, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Tallinn, Frankfurt, Kiev, Prague).
Mr Cholmondley Warner Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 The best recently was Amsterdam Schiphol.....in the Whiskey and Cigar shop, they had a pretty extensive walk in humidor that was impressive. There were lots more impressive things once you let the airport though. Awesome yet massive airport.
Hash Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 LCDH at Beirut Duty Free , some of the best cigar selections.
gersonmorelli Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I've never been to Beirut, but I was really impressed with Dubai's selection and prices! Hands down best cigar shop I've been. I guess I may have to stop by Beirut one of these days!
shlomo Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Not been to many, but Zurich had a nice, albeit, small shop in the Davidoff area. Munich had zilch last time I went through and Frankfurt wasn't much better. Tel Aviv does have nice older sticks (and a large amount of variety). Two years ago I found a handful of Cohiba Reserva boxes. Sadly all of them were moldy and not worth taking a risk on. Even at the lower price of about $550 USD. I settled on 2 boxes of Monte Sublimes and 2 boxes of Boli Corona Extra from 2008 instead. Total was around $600 for the 4 boxes. At the time they had a deal, buy any 3 boxes and get a 4th free. Equal or lesser value of course. Montreal and Toronto duty free are truly the worst ever. Unless you want an unlimited and highly overpriced selection of Don Candido, there is nothing there for you. Not even booze. CRAZY prices. 1
Blakes Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I contacted Beirut a few months ago to see if the would ship after seeing some stuff I would love to get my hands on, but sadly they won't. Ever since I've been trying to quietly convince family members that instead of Thailand/Spain or usual destinations for their holiday Beirut is a top destination! No takers so far.. 1

A friend who travels fairly regularly back and forth to Lebanon picked me up a box of Black Prince a couple years ago. Glorious box. 1
sam Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Unfortunately I don't have much experience with decent duty free shops outside the US. I was amused by the awful, terrible looking fakes in the Belize City duty free shop last month. The cigar I rolled myself at the CA Great Smoke event a few years ago looked better than most of them. ---sam

gpg Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Munich has nothing in duty free but they do have a shop in the smaller terminal that has a reasonable.selection. Nothing exceptional though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
