Laxman Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I am trying to get a pulse on the past and current RE's out there. Recently I have noticed the 07 PL Robustos are starting to disappear. They where easy available for quite sometime now. The last year or so the RACF has disappeared and cannot be found easily anywhere. So what RE's that are available right now do you believe are going to disappear soon and will be very tough to get a hold of. Even such recent releases as the LFDC Grandioso, which I believe is a great cigar now and a beast down the road. This I believe by years end is going to be very scarce if available at all. 1
almudawi Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Bolivar Simones (Canada RE).. Gone  Bolivar DC (Middle East RE).. Gone 3
ChanceSchmerr Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Bolivar Simones (Canada RE).. Gone  Moe, Check your email about the Simones
Puros Y Vino Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 La Escepcion ER Italy are apparently sold out after that jar release. Still a box or two in Italy I'm sure. RACF really picked up in demand. Totally worth it. The cigars are fantastic. The RA Gladiator BPE was pretty much gone upon release. The Edmundo Dantes Conde 109 sold out fast. Conde54's can be found. Saw a bunch in Cancun Duty Free in Jan. Most Canadian RE's still around, except for the Simones. As a side note. A lot of these RE's really put the regular releases to shame. Especially the RA ones. Kinda sad in a way.
ramon_cojones Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 need to cop a box of escepsions soon them if I like them disagree on ra reg prod
Puros Y Vino Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 need to cop a box of escepsions soon them if I like them disagree on ra reg prod Dont get me wrong. I love RA's. But from what's left of the regular portfolios, RASS, Gigantes and RASCC. They need some time to age before they really come into their own. With the RASCC a minor exception. A fresh RACF, Gladiator, Super Ramon, Gordito, etc.. has been spot on. All are aging well too. YMMV from palate to palate of course.
Louich Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 RACF have been on my list for a while, seems my dog is dead.... :-( (if anyone has a hint please pm me ;-)

I've got a friend whose father works in mining out there and frequently travels back and forth, and I've been meaning to ask him to find me a cab of Gladiators, if they can still be found. My mind was blown by the one I was generously given, and now I'm hot and heavy for more LOL

Since then, haven't seen a one. The one I had was one of the best cigars I've ever smoked. Still, it doesn't hurt to take a look down there.

hebbe72 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 What about the Punch gold medals? Are they just pricey or are they crap? I have a box that I haven't cracked open yet. Was it a bad investment from my side?
CaptainQuintero Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 What about the Punch gold medals? Are they just pricey or are they crap? I have a box that I haven't cracked open yet. Was it a bad investment from my side? Hey I do Tomiki Aikido, just saw your bio! What style do you practise? sorry back OT :S They are pricey compared to other releases but tastes are personal so you might love them. I think my main issue with them was the UK got three regionals in less than 12 months in the UK (Boli Brit, RA petit beli and the Punch), The Boli for me was terrible in both construction and blend (But I know others love it) the RA felt uninspired and the latter felt like it was just being made for the Olympics and the tourist money coming in. So it might just be those circumstances that made my view on them slanted. I found them a little underwhelming but that was just my taste. I don't think there really is such a thing as a bad investment with cigars though, UK regionals will always get back their purchase price eventually. Light one up, they should be coming into their own two years after rolling now!
Lotusguy Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 German RE status as best as I know: Bolivar Colossales - Only some singles available PL Lonsdales - Gone PL Robusto - Gone Boli Esp. #2 - Almost gone Boli 5ta Avenida - Gone RA Belicosos - Gone JL Distinguidos - Gone Sancho Panza Escuderos - available Punch Sir John - available RG Petit Piramides - available RA 898 - CAN'T WAIT!!!
CaptainQuintero Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 The year is 2032. Serbia is still wondering when their 50 cabs of Sancho Panza 109s will sell out :S Sorry Serbia, I really hope I'm proven wrong. 1
Onsto Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 What about the Punch gold medals? Are they just pricey or are they crap? I have a box that I haven't cracked open yet. Was it a bad investment from my side? I enjoyed the first ones I bought so much that I picked up another box. The majority that I've seen post have been underwhelmed, but I have very much enjoyed them. I bought my boxes last summer when the Canadian $ was much stronger against sterling, so the price didn't seem quite so high I guess...

shlomo Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Most of these cigars are always fairly readily available through LCDHs or auction sites. Prices will behigher than duty free online vendors, but if you really want it....they are all there for the buying... 1

RE's from plenty of regions I thought long gone, rather, there in abundance. Currently thinking about how to finance the mission.

nikesupremedunk Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 So pissed I slept on the RACF's for so long. It seems now I may be too late for PL Robo's…crap. I also want to secure at least a box of VR anni's before they disappear. The single I smoked last year was one of the best cigars I've had that year along with Conde 54's and 520's.
