ayepatz Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Been needing a travel humi for a while. Saw this today and took a punt. Cigar Caddy 10 capacity. Anyone else got one? Any good? How often do they need topping up with glycol?
dpodiluk Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I have a 15 stick one and what I do is toss in a couple Boveda's and they are good for almost forever, the seal is really good.
HarveyBoulevard Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Love mine to death. Have a 3 finger leather case but find myself always reaching for the herf-a-dor. Seal is great and I put heartfelt beads in where the foam used to be.
Rye Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Love mine once I realized that the built in humidifier was crap. Like dpodiluk said, a small Boveda in the very bottom and you're good for months 1
Maplepie Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 i never humidify that thing. then again, i never put my sticks for more than 2 days in them. it also helps to drybox them if you keep your humi between 70-72 . Pretty useful as i've dropped it in the water too!
Brickhouse Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 They are a must have in my opinion. I have about 5 in varying sizes. Just toss in a Boveda and you're good to hook.
DrunkenMonkey Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I love mine. I store it in the humidor, so when I do use it, all the foam inside is at 65%, and I never bother to use a humidifier. I've gone away for 3 weeks and had no problems.

markyeo Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 great stuff, i dont use the supplied humidifier. i just throw in some small bovedas i get from box buy... 1
ZinZan Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 great stuff, i dont use the supplied humidifier. i just throw in some small bovedas i get from box buy... X2. The only time i had problems when i was in the Middle East, the evironment was just too dry.
Colt45 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I have a few - a five count, a ten count (flat - ten cigars across in one layer), and a twenty four count -they're great. I've never used the humidifiers / added moisture to these. Actually, I typically use a de-humidifier - a cigar tube which I've drilled holes in, filled with unmoistened crystal kitty litter.
DrunkenMonkey Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 who has room for empty misc items in their humidors!?! Unfortunately, I do.

Peacock Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I have one, and I take it on all trips....I have some COROs going to Chicago with me on Tuesday in it! Love it. You have to be careful, if you fill it with PC's they will bounce around inside. I use a seperate piece of foam bridged across the lot to lock em in place.
Carts Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I have the 15 ct, and I agree with those above, Boveda is far superior than the foam
ZAZ Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 To those of you who have the cigar caddys (of any size), have you had any issues with the clips?? I've heard they easily come off and are fragile/break easily. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Have not had any break, do not seem fragile. This is the 5 count.

dpodiluk Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 How long did you have it before they broke off? A couple of weeks. The hinges were very very stiff and if I did not hold it just the right way put a lot of stress on the connection points.
ZAZ Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 A couple of weeks. The hinges were very very stiff and if I did not hold it just the right way put a lot of stress on the connection points. That's kind of what I heard about the design and the clips. Break easily.
Ginseng Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I use a 15-ct. Very utilitarian. Like it. When I go for short stints, I don't put in any humidification at all. I don't like a humidifying element right next to or touching my cigars. Rather, I just puff a few deep breaths in and it's good for the day. Wilkey
Armaniac Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I have a 10 and a 15 count unit from Herf-a-dor. Love them! I find I use the 10 count more and the bottom layer is reserved for accessories (lighter(s) cutters draw enhancer etc.). My hinges are made in a way that if they pop off, they can be snapped right back in.
