SMQQKIN Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 IMO the box I have is very good. Love the size, construction is excellent, flavors are rich and presentation is great. If you don't like them you will not have any problem getting rid of them. I would be happy to trade you.
bassman Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I love them! To me, a rather unique flavor profile that really suits me. At $500 a box, well worth trying a single first to see if it suits your taste. I have 2 boxes.
Skyfall Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Absolutely worth it. But I am biased, as it's an Italian regional and my surname is Festa, plus, I love lonsdales. And if you were lucky enough to pick up a jar, and the two boxes you needed to fill it with 30 sticks, then the second box, realistically, cost you half price. Either that or the jar was free. Lonsdales??????
Habano Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Lonsdales?????? The La Escep is the size of a Lonsdale. It's the vitola of the cigar.
Skyfall Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 The La Escep is the size of a Lonsdale. It's the vitola of the cigar. No, it's not. It's a Panetela. 38x166. Lonsdales are 44x195 I was questioning referring to it as a Lonsdale, not what is a Lonsdale.
Habano Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 No, it's not. It's a Panetela. 38x166. Lonsdales are 44x195 I was questioning referring to it as a Lonsdale, not what is a Lonsdale. I call it the Lonsdale Extra. Lol.
Smallclub Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 The La Escep is the size of a Lonsdale. It's the vitola of the cigar. Nope. It's a parejo, like the former Partagas Série du Connaisseur No.2; 166mmX38rg: thus it belongs to the panatela family. 1
Orion21 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 It's the perfect sized cigar. Skinny enough to deliver tons of flavor and long enough to enjoy for an hour to hour and a half depending on how quickly you smoke. Some NC manufacturers call the size a petit lancero. I have smoked my share of Opus X Petit Lancero and the LeE is much better.
fookite Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Nope. It's a parejo, like the former Partagas Série du Connaisseur No.2; 166mmX38rg: thus it belongs to the panatela family. Doesn't parejo just refer to the shape of a cigar, and not the dimensions, like figurado?
Colt45 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Doesn't parejo just refer to the shape of a cigar, and not the dimensions, like figurado? In Cuban cigar - speak, parejo is a size - like robusto, julieta 2 (churchill), corona, etc:
Jeremy Festa Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Lonsdales?????? Forgive me!!!!!! It is a panetela. I love those too.
Smallclub Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Doesn't parejo just refer to the shape of a cigar, and not the dimensions, like figurado? Yes it does, but it's also a specific vitola - typical cuban mess
Skyfall Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Forgive me!!!!!! It is a panetela. I love those too. no worries mate
Orion21 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 It's medium full and carries a lot of nicotine. Great flavors. I described it like a Grand Reserva RyJ Cazzie.
Stevieboy Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Excellent smoke. I've a box and and a half tucked away. I think the naysayers are just jealous that they couldn't source any of this rare and lovely cigar:) Joke btw before anyone gets uppity
Orion21 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I would buy another box. The word I got was that the distribution channel is now sold out, so whatever boxes are in shops now are all that is left.

oliverdst Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I asked that because tonight I had my first one and oh boy. Wood and mentol and a full load of nicotine. I got kind of dizzy.
nikesupremedunk Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I enjoyed them so I would say it's definitely worth picking up at least a couple. I would say they are on the pricier side mainly due to it being so limited and from Italy, not to mention it's a marca that's been extinct. From what I remember, it had tons of flavors and was very complex. In fact, thank you for this post, I'm going to bring one with me when I go to DR in march. Definitely a nice special occasion kind of smoke. Oh, and here's a pic to persuade you
ewipper Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Have you tried them? Are you particularly fond of the size? If not, why take a crapshoot as expensive?Rarity, prestige and an extra band don't coat a palate… This
bogglor Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 This will be the first cigar that I smoke when the weather gets nicer. I've got 3 that I acquired in a trade earlier in December and it's been killing me to sit on them. I've read so many good things that I hope it lives up to my already lofty expectations. 1
