sharks Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Magic, actually saw a platypus feed in the wild the other day, priceless 1
LGC Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Fantastic video! It's not too often that you see big browns going for dries like that. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
puromaniac Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Thanks for posting, Ken. Pretty amazing stuff. So does this mean a true fly fisherman is never totally prepared unless he has a fly that hovers? Count me in on R & D if it involves those Browns and a few Cubans. 1
Ken Gargett Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Thanks for posting, Ken. Pretty amazing stuff. So does this mean a true fly fisherman is never totally prepared unless he has a fly that hovers? Count me in on R & D if it involves those Browns and a few Cubans. every time i head out in NZ for those browns, i take some top cubans and every time i find no time to smoke them (occasionally i might smoke one if we have a long walk home after the day's fishing). i always think i'll celebrate a good fish with good cuban but i get so excited that i just want to catch the next one. the cubans have to wait.
puromaniac Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I must fess up to bad form in that I smoke while I fish. I'm perfectly aware this might not be charitably viewed as the best way to fully enjoy a fine Cuban (especially when it's rainy or windy), but I'm more into celebrating the anticipation of a fish gabbing my dry, than in the catching part (though I could see how this might be mistaken for rationalization). Despite the occasional sacrifice of a cigar to the river gods, or a missed strike while lost in a distracted daze, the slight loss of enjoyment is more than offset by a memorable haul of cracker Cubans.
Carts Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Very cool clip, be cool to have it on loop as a computer screensaver
Jeremy Festa Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Very nice. A mini RC helicopter with a hook and some string would be awesome fun! Expensive in the long run, but awesome fun!
nikonNUT Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Stunning footage Always amazing to watch big fish dining on on such dainty fare.
PuroDan Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/video-damsels-in-distress Some of my best days fishing were in rain storms. Fishing emergers. In Montana when it rains its on!!!! Most of the time:-)
PuroDan Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/video-damsels-in-distressOne of the best feeding videos of brown's I have ever seen. You should watch trout bum diaries. Real good.
