fookite Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 The letter "d" can be used to represent the word "the". * mind blown *

Troels Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 no contest, plmc make pannys taste like dirt +1
Wil Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I like the panetelas but they are pretty one dimensional. I'd go the Montecarlos. 1
Smallclub Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 The panatela used to be the best of the 2 for years, but nowadays I much prefer the MC. That said it depends on the way you are going to smoke them; the panatela can be smoked quickly with a cup of coffee but the MC must be sipped slowly and needs a bit of attention…
Franko Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Do monte smokes cain of like, a lance or corona especial??? O love d way lanceros smokes..
Franko Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Try in english… Lol.. French toast!! I like the way lancero smokes!! Do d montecarlos any closed of a lancero??
Smallclub Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 No, the Montecarlo is actually much smaller than a Lancero/Delicados, and the ring gauge is only 33, which is very slim… To me it's the typical afternoon smoke; a bit too spicy for the morning, not enough satisfying as a post supper smoke, but perfect for tea-time or the post work beer…
Orion21 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I love my Montecarlo. They are more full bodied than I expected, but are a pleasure to smoke. The construction has been spot on as well, especially for such a thin cigar. For the price it should be in everyone's humidor.
MC4 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 For me it was no comparison. Montecarlo. The other tasted like cigarette to me.
ramon_cojones Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 ^LOL I've become a huge fan of recent montecarlos. I've tried a few here and there but never got the flavor that I did out of my '12 box. Like Frank said, a little too intense for early morning but for afternoon coffee it's just perfect, yet it's heavy enough to hold its own. The profile is different and sweeter than most cigars but keeps my interest since it's got a lot going on. I find myself reaching for them constantly when I'm not in the mood for the mongrel of a d4 because they're easier to smoke and enjoy since you're sipping instead of getting overwhelmed. I keep telling all my friends it's one of the best 4 dollar cigars you can buy, in fact I'd easily pay more for them bc I enjoy them so much. Love the rg, just feels so nice in the mouth whereas a recent hurr was just too big to be comfortable at 52 rg I believe.
b4z00k4 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I've only had one of the Montecarlos out of the box I bought and was very disappointed after reading all the positive posts about them. It was almost flavorless, got incredibly hot very easily and had a myriad of burn issues. Hoping they'll be better after a month's rest. Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk
sengjc Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 ...the MC must be sipped slowly and needs a bit of attention… This is my experience too. Take it slow on the Montecarlo and you will be rewarded with plenty of honeyed nuances. It intensifies with age. Haven't tried the Panatelas however, but being relatively inexpensive, I don't see much can go wrong either. They are both good value sticks.
puromaniac Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 The PLPC is in my regular rotation but have also been wondering about the MC so thanks for the advice. So much to try still...thankfully.
al321 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I've got a box of recent Panatelas that I enjoy quite a bit when I'm short on time. Pretty much like a baby PLPC.
oliverdst Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 FEB 13 Panetelas smoking pretty well at this time.

Laxman Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Need to try the Montecarlos after viewing this thread. Big fan of the PL marca.
b4z00k4 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Smoking hot suggests you may be smoking too fast? As others have said, thinner gauge cigars should be smoked slowly. Right. However, if I slowed down beyond.the rate I was smoking, the thing would just go out in short order. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
Blakes Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Right. However, if I slowed down beyond.the rate I was smoking, the thing would just go out in short order. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2 A gentler, softer draw will also stop it from over heating, when you first start smoking the thinner ring gauges it can take time to learn how to smoke them right and get the most out of them, especially if your used to the fatter smokes.
