El Presidente Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 This trip....I smoked plenty of great cigars. I drank plenty of great wine. Nothing comes close to the smile on a child's face
Smallclub Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Wow. Good times in beautiful scenery. Where is it?
LordAnubis Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Nice, not that i'm a fishing man, but thats a big fish!
Fuzz AI Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Nice flatty. At that size, it's obvious Tom caught that one.
Hiroshiro Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 That's Really beautiful. Look at how undisturbed the sand is. Amazing!
CaptainQuintero Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 That looks like paradise! Are those fish good eating?
alloy Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Looks like a great vaca and you are really enjoying! What kind of fish is that?
bolivr Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 That's a flathead. Delicious. Quick fry in beer batter
Isotonic Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Flathead tails are magnificent eating. Light tempura batter with lemon and some tartare. Nice catch
riazp Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 great stuff Rob. nothing better than time away with family
Mr.T Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Indeed! Glad you had a fantastic time with the kids and thanks for sharing the photos.......
cigardude Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Nice flatty! I assume you were in QLD, But those dunes remind me of Stockton NSW. What kid doesn't enjoy 4x4ing along the beach, good onya!
El Presidente Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Wow. Good times in beautiful scenery. Where is it? About 2 and 3/4 hours north of Brisbane. Coolola sands national park just south of Rainbow beach. One of my favourite places in the world. The scenery is stunning, civilisation not too far away, excellent fishing and 4x4 driving. The large fish as has been pointed out is a Flathead. This one is a large breeding female. You can keep them between 40 cm and 75 cm. This one came in at close to 73 but I couldn't bring myself to kill a beautiful female like that. let her go and repopulate.
Babaloo Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Outstanding, I could see why this is one of your fav. place's! Nice catch Tom.
