jdo2110 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Why is this cigar not spoke of very often? I've never had it, but I'm curious on thoughts.
CaptainQuintero Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 One of my favourites in the CC world. With 6/7 years they are so creamy and smooth they are a dream. Patience is needed though to get to that stage unless you get an older box (Reasonably easy to be fair). They are one of those cigars that I've found the uglier ones to taste the best lol
jdo2110 Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Thx for that. Would you recommend any others that maybe fly under the radar?
mk05 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Sometimes, cigars that are under the radar are the best kept secrets. This being one of them.
LGC Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Good cigars with age, and the right blend. When it comes to newer cigars, flash and "limited" availability tends to sell. Vitolas that have been in regular production tend to be ignored by many... until they get discontinued and become harder to find.
LLC Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Had one from '05 the other day and it was good but not great. That has been my experience with aged Monty 3's.

CaptainQuintero Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Thx for that. Would you recommend any others that maybe fly under the radar? Not under the radar here but outside of foh possibly; QDO corona, I could smoke those and monte 3 and nothing else and be a very happy guy If you can find them the sancho panda molinos The punch sabrosos Asia pacific RE is outstanding too, delicate and sweet with a core of berry fruits. Blows the big talk EL and RE from recent years away imo, but don't tell anyone! Shhhhh!
Lotusguy Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 For me, they are a mixed bag - Had absolutely outstanding ones and totally boring ones. I have bought a grand total of 3 boxes (plus assorted 5ers and singles) over the last few years, smoked 2 of them, and sold the third box in disgust because they were so inconsistent. That's what people always say about Monte #4 and Monte #2 but I have had much better experiences with both of those so that's what I am buying.
MC4 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I've been going through many 2012s and they are excellent.
