Canadahamlet Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 This has nothing to do with arrests, morality, the theory of marxism. Classic. "Oh Charles, go walk the smelly corgis" jajaja
rckymtn22 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Classic! The hospital might want to get call display!
Diamondog Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I know he's the king in waiting but really???? he gets to have babies with her????? No offence William but I'm guessin' if you weren't the next king she woulda taken a pass lol...

Diamondog Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 He isn't the next king. Well he will see king is what I meant, Charlie is getting up there...
Hazza Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I love how nervous the nurse sounds. She really believes she's talking to the queen. Hillarious
First Lady Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Honestly it was brilliant, they are getting in so much trouble now and the Royals are threatening to sue... get over yourself please.... if they are annoyed take it up with the hospital the radio station thought they would never get through... Bring on making Australia a republic
winelover Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Bring on making Australia a republic I think Charles will be the last King of OZ and a Republic wIll be borne during his reign (God help us aIl! )
Justmi Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I know he's the king in waiting but really???? he gets to have babies with her????? No offence William but I'm guessin' if you weren't the next king she woulda taken a pass lol... Its the same with Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock or Rainier and Grace Kelly. I wonder if in silent moments they think whether their spouses were shallow in marrying them for the easy life.
MIKA27 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I cant believe the hospital (Or more so the individual) was so stupid to divulge such personal information OVER the telephone. Its all over the news here, really, there are way more urgent and important issues throughout the world than the royals. No offence to anyone.

Puros Y Vino Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Much ado about nothing. I can't believe how much press this is getting. It's not the DJ's fault for getting through it's the hospitals fault for not being diligent about screening requests for private health info. It's probably very likely that this hospital is used to fielding calls from Royals and or their staff and don't like to keep them waiting, hence the ease in which the nurse picked up. Who needs these Royal's anyway?
Tino Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Who needs these Royal's anyway? They're quite handy for tourism!
First Lady Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I have to say Good on Prince Charles, he actually found it funny.... Bravo
CaptainQuintero Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Turns out the nurse who took the call has killed herself: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/royal-hoax-call-receptionist-commits-suicide-144751515.html
MrDowse Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I am no great lover of the royals and I wasn't going to comment here as seem to be in disagreement with everyone elses opinion. I thought it was despicable. personally can't see how a young woman who is barely 12 weeks pregnant with her first child and suffering from a serious medical condition is seen as fair game for a couple of dickhead dj's. Because she is famous? How would you feel if that was your wife or daughter? My next thought was for the poor staff who were going to be in the **** for allowing the call through and giving out the information. I didn't imagine they would get an easy ride. Now we hear the receptionist has killed herself. Great. Wonder if those 2 think its such a big giggle now?
Puros Y Vino Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 It's a shame about the nurse committing suicide. I really doubt that the two DJ's are directly responsible. The fault lies with the hospitals inability to screen calls looking for private information. It's even worse that they did so while having a famous patient admitted! If I ask Rob to give me the email addresses of everyone on FOH he will tell me to bugger off as he has to comply with privacy laws. The hospital has the same restrictions I'm sure. I'm betting that the hospital is used to fielding calls from Royals and their handlers. And making them wait is probably a no no. As for the calls, DJ's have been making prank calls for decades. This whole affair with Kate's pregnancy is overblown. Just look at the coverage. The media has seating setup outside of the hospital. This was a circus atmosphere even before the prank call was made. It sucks that the Will and Kates privacy was infringed upon. That is not acceptable regardless of the person's social status. If all the gawking "royal watchers' didn't eat this crap up there wouldn't be a market for it period. The coverage of this has been deplorable. Let the woman go through her pregnancy in peace if there is something to say, they'll say it.
rckymtn22 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Turns out the nurse who took the call has killed herself: http://uk.news.yahoo...-144751515.html I see that, has turned from a prank to now something tragic.
mazolaman Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 It's kind of indicative the mass hysteria that exists, all around the worlds press, regarding the royals. Also people think quite highly of these two newlyweds, as they seem quite a bit nicer than many previous royals. This woman obviously felt a massive sense of shame for letting the call through. Supposedly, the worlds press were meant to give them some space, after the whole Diana thing, see how long that lasts. Not a royalist, but sad this woman ended up taking this sacrifice for the sake of a joke.
Canadahamlet Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 This is tragic and not funny anymore, I am deeply saddened by this news. Just awful.
CaptainQuintero Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 People saying that 'oh she should have acted more professionally' don't understand the way wards work here, these aren't receptionists they are nurses who are working 12 hour+ shifts at the coalface, when the phone rings they grab it and try to help, it's NHS policy that no information about any patient can be given out over the phone unless it's family. Was any of the information given out worth actually reporting? The nurse said she was feeling better and had been a little dehydrated when she came in and then told the caller what the opening times for visitors were. It's not like she sent the prank callers naked pictures form examinations or anything. I'd say to those people trying to criticise the nurse to work a week of 12 hour shifts at a hospital and then try to toe the line on a phone call to when you are running on empty and trying to do the best you can. On general pranks/jokes I find them great but only on people you know, that's the fun. I don't understand the logic behind doing it on a stranger apart from to laugh at someone you don't know? Thoughts going out to the nurse and her family, and pity to those DJs for thinking with their ratings instead of their brains.
winelover Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Very sad indeed. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/kate-middleton/9730056/Duchess-of-Cambridge-hospital-nurse-who-took-hoax-call-found-dead-in-suspected-suicide.html

If us public didn't care about them the press wouldn't report. All cause by the "national inquirer" style mags. If the public had ignored them 40 + years ago we would not have the reporting like we have today.
winelover Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 QC - was the hospital a private hospital? If so then NHS etc not relevant. I just hope the hospital supported their employee. Probability was that their HR team brought disciplinary proceedings and she got a roasting on top of all of the public shame. She must have felt truly awful and without anyone to turn to. It really is such a shame and a loss.
