canadianbeaver Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Oh please don't bury me, down in that cold cold ground, I'd rather have them cut me up and pass me all around; Throw my brain in a hurricane and the blind can have my eyes, And the deaf can have both of my ears if they don't mind the size. _ John Prine. So what's the one cigar in your collection RIGHT NOW that you can't don't think part with til, you know, that day? I just don't know what to do with this:
tmac77 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 you want me to take care of this dilemma for you?
Styler Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I have too many cigars that have been deemed sacrosanct. I'm psyching myself up to starting a routine where my best cigars get smoked first, not last. As per this forum's motto!
Puros Y Vino Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Hmmm I can take care of that cigar for you. To answer your question. My one and only Cuban Davidoff Dom Perignon.
maverickdrinker Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I'll smoke it for you Lisa. This takes the dilemna out of your hands, reduces angst and stress from your life as you won't worry about what to do about it anymore. I'll even post a review so that you get recognition!!! Tom and Frank will only 'take care' of the cigar. This doesn't ensure that it will be smoked. Not specific enough of a solution.... See, I am a Solutions guy.
canadianbeaver Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Enough already you nut bars... Now answer the question.
pjansen Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 My PL Montecarlo from Nov 1991 because that's when I was born. Thought it's cool to have a cigar that is my age. Ha
Rushman Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Such a cigar doesn't exist. I'm here for however short or long and will try to live to the fullest. I hold some for aging, but nothing is sacrosanct. Having said that, there are many cigars in my wife's collection that if I smoked it might very well be my last. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631725,-87.070649
celtmick1984 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 My PL Montecarlo from Nov 1991 because that's when I was born. Thought it's cool to have a cigar that is my age. Ha Congrats on finding one Thrasherman! I remember you were looking. In answer to Lisa's question, I have no such cigar, but would love to. Maybe a Cohiba Gran Reserva would qualify. Until then, I'll keep buying and smoking the best I can get.

PigFish Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 All of my cigars have been deemed worthy of sacrificial immolation at the temple of Sir Piggy! While I cannot smoke them all today... I will get to them someday. The future is uncertain, smoke a great cigar today! Cheers, Piggy
Scdalak Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 So what's the one cigar in your collection RIGHT NOW that you can't don't think part with til, you know, that day? I cannot part with these, until... you know.....That Day!!
Colt45 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I just don't know what to do with this: I recommend burning it - right now..... When in doubt, nub it out!
pjansen Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 The machine made PL Montecarlo in cello? That's the one.
orangedog Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 If you only have one - you'll only know how it looks if you never smoke it. Wouldn't you rather know how it smokes? Better to have loved and lost... If you have two - either (a) share one with a friend and smoke them together, creating an experience/memory that is better than a cigar or (B ) smoke one and know you've got another to fall back on in the future. Either way, smoke it. I have a stash of cigars that I consider my "higher end" type sticks. I don't wait for special occasions, but I've found that every now and then I just want one of those, and often it is a specific one. Maybe it is just dumb luck that my mind gives the go ahead for me. The other option, when you know you're likely to only get one, and you're afraid you'll like it so much and then not have it again - smoke it, and take a lot of pictures and jot down some notes. Then, when you get the slightest twinge of regret, you can go back to those images and notes and relive the glory days. Sadly my humi is CGR-less, but I do look at those pictures probably once every three months.
SuprHasan Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Matt, I have to agree with you there. It was created to be burnt, enjoyed, savoured and remembered. As Nick says, smoke 'em if you got 'em!

I usually go for whatever I'm in the mood for but I always seem to shy away from sticks that I only have 1 left of. One day I'll get the courage...

Dbone Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Smoke the good stuff today, there may not be a tomorrow. Besides, wouldn't be the first time I had super expectations on a special cigar which was none better than an everyday smoke. I do not have a cigar I won't smoke today.
greenpimp Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 When I save a very special cigar for a very special moment it never seems to live up. When I just smoke it, convinced I will be run over by a bus tomorrow, it is invariably extraordinary and memorable. Our passion/obsession involves clinging to things that are inherently temporary in their quality and enjoyment. Don't wait too long.
