pwhite
Not only do a lot of these places rape you with the price but then you find out after your first few draws that it is counterfeit. It has happened to me at even supposedly reputable cigar shops.
mash
I wonder if you went to City Cigars in Vancouver as I did a month ago. When I entered the store I was expecting to be mesmerized by seeing fabulous looking cigars. Well, to be nice, I will say that I was underwhelmed. And the prices, well....I'm very thankful for my trusted online vendors. I was trying to chat it up with the guy behind the counter and asked if he is part of an online cigar community thinking maybe he is an FOH member. He said, "I don't talk or type about cigars, I smoke them." I left the store scratching my head feeling let down by the experience. The prices are crazy, but I'm curious what you didn't like about the cigars. Their selection is huge, and I've always found their cigars really well stored. winelover
In high tax environments the silver lining is that you can normally find aged sticks much more easily and they don't tejd to be sold at a premium. That's my excperience in the UK.
