In the favorite album thread I listed Miles Davis "******* Brew" & it got censored. It's the title of a very famous album. What's up with that?

Automatically done by the forum. The parental controls were turned on due to a spate abusive language some time back.

This seems, interestingly enough, to happen to a Japanese whisky brand. Is N_i_k_k_a a bad word in Aussie? :-)

I have no desire to use abusive language or profanity, but it seems a title should be allowed. But, it's not my board. :innocent:

I will forward you the details of the perpetrators. Take it up with them.

By any other name it is still Miles Davis, you can't mistake that album.

Off topic but I love the story about how Kind of Blue was on sale for thirty years with one side mastered at the wrong speed. Still sounded good to me mind you. Biatches Brew is an awesome record though.

If the system is automatic it would't care about the context of the profanity... for instance, your dog could give birth to a litter of dogs. "The puppies are going well, and the ***** is doing fine too" - of course, not profanity, but the system is still going to wipe out bi*ch. Unless you are clever and space between letters or substitute something :)

However, I think the sad realisation here is that this is required DUE to the spate of bad and abusive language in the community.

:peace:

I suppose you just have to be imaginative. Let's see if this gets censored.

What do you call a policewoman with a brazilian?

"Constable"

:lookaround:

Any explanation of this joke would probably get censored, and probably rightly so..

BTW no offense intended.

LOL. Does the forum's servers have the bandwidth for that??!?!

I think the sadder aspect of that, is that members continue to mock it, and use spaces or asterisks for the most part to be able to type in some really profane or unneeded words. Yes, I get that an arse or something like that here or there is not a major issue. But when some flaut some more vulgar terms, using dashes and whatnot, that sucks.

It's the continuing use of the language, and thereby flagrantly disregarding our host's wishes, that's the saddest aspect of this, IMO.
