investandprosper Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 So so sorry for your loss, Rob. There is nothing that compares to hurt of losing a family member.
MIKA27 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I have been there myself Rob, that was 13 years ago and i still think of my dog and how he was just as much of a member of my family, my life as is my own children. Of course back 13 years ago, I didn't have my kids around, but to quantify my love would be very similar, he was such a great friend. I hope in time, your family and you, come to grips with the loss but I am sure there are many happy memories to think back on.
Hypersomniac Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Sorry to hear that you lost him Rob. I only saw him in the one video where you had him fetch a cigar, but it made me think, "Dang, that is one awesome dog."

joeypots Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Condolences. They give much and ask little. I miss all my dogs.
Orion21 Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Rob, I am so sorry my friend. Your post brought tears to my eyes and a wrench in my stomach. I feel for you so much having lost my two best friends; two German Shepards who were brothers from the same litter. They created so much joy for the short time they were with us, both suddenly taken by genetic defects. They were my world when I was 18-23. I can feel the sadness to this day thinking about how much I loved them and holding both of their heads and kissing their fur 1 month apart as they were put to sleep. It's so devastating and I know it's a hard time, but the fact you got so long with your buddy is a gift. BUT, the memories will never leave you and the joyful times will bring a smile to your face once the sadness lessens. Cheers and light up one of your best cigars and pull out your best scotch to toast your constant companion!
