Well, cigar number 3 provided a challenge to many! Thanks to those who had construction issues for their grace and good humour.

Cigar number 3 was SEP 10.

Quai D'Orsay Imperiales was the most popular choice and I can certainly see why. Both cigars share many of the same characteristics particularly when young. If you get a chance, read the reviews of those who piked the cigar and compare them to yours. You will note there is bugger all difference lol3.gif

Now I can also see why the Cohiba Esplendido was raised thinking.gif A certain mellow grassiness (also found in Quai D'Orsay), creaminess, toasted tobacco.

Unfortunately it was not a Cohiba Esplendido biggrin.gif

Welcome to the H. Upmann Sir Winston and congratulations to those who picked it as well as to the three tied winners of this years competition ...Andris, Cottierm, Carnivalhobo who picked 2 out of 3 cigars which is an exceptional performance clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif

The $500 prize will be split 3 ways so contact me after Tuesday.

Well done one and all and I hope you enjoyed it. We might get another comp in for the second half of the year. biggrin.gif

Im glad that my boxes of Sir Winnie's are not like the mystery cigar! Mine are decadant and flavourful. Sir Winnie's are one of my top 3 smokes....and I always swore I'd always be able to pick one. Goes to show I have no F'n idea about cigars.

What box code or year are these ones, Rob?

Congrats to the winners!!! Well done!!!

Congratulations to all who participated in this experience! And special congratulations to Andris and Carnivalhobo, well done guys!

As for myself? Ah la la, to fail so close to the aim  And of course, the Sir Winston was the one I didn't bother to try so sure was I that it couldn't be it and so much I wanted to keep my own specimens of them untouched for the fall! What I have learned from this: when blind-tasting, try ALL cigar of the same vitola before passing judgement!

All the best!

Never in a million years would I have thought this to be a sir Winnie! Made even worse as this was the only cigar of the 3 that I've had before.

Either I'm that bad, Cuba is that inconsistent or both!

Hearty congratulations to the winners!

Didn't bother to submit a guess, since I was out of the running anyway, but the Sir Winston was the one that I was 100% certain this was NOT :rotfl:

Congratulations to those who guessed lucky figured it out :D:innocent:

Nice to finally get one right. Oddly, this was the only one I smoked alone, without the usual herfing crew offering suggestions....

Congrats to the winners and thanks Rob for the contest.

I can't believe I got this one right ! confused.gif

I've never smoked a Sir Winston before, but it was the only churchill I knew to be "mild", so I guessed that...

Congrats to the winners !
