khomeinist Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Pass. A delicado or lonsdale might have been interesting.
Drguano Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 1338312940[/url]' post='312004']Any chance you're heading down to London for the Hunter's party on Thursday CQ? There's a few of us meeting up in St. James for a pre-event cigar about 3-4pm, should be a laugh. I'll have my dancing gear on, including my drinking hat. I may try to get over a day early. Where will you be in St. James?
cigcars Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Look awesome! I'm guessing the price will be less awesome. They are robusto extras though would have loved them to be the same vitola as the boli GMs. This could be me being cynical after being let down after quite a few REs *HEY, Capt. Quint! In clicking on your YouTube video review selection: 1. I'm SOOOO glad to see SOMEBODY have a Cuban Troya in hand! I've tried them and didn't find them unenjoyable at all! Yet I'd read so many negative stabs and jabs at it 'til I felt too bashful to even mention it. 2. Man, how OLD are you!?? I didn't know you were SO young...what are you, twelve!?
Lotusguy Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I like shiny things - will give them a try if the price is reasonable.
mazolaman Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 2. Man, how OLD are you!?? I didn't know you were SO young...what are you, twelve!? Ahhh bless him, but he's cute though isn't he? I suspect these Punch will be too rich for my blood, particularly after a disappointing Britanicas...
MrDowse Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 It's a pass from me too. I suspect that 4 of these cigars will cost me about the same as the recent box of RASCC i picked up Meh. I may grab a single just so i've tried em
almudawi Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 A Robusto for Switzerland in 2005, a Dobles for Asia/Pacifico in 2006, the robusto for Emirates you've mentionned, a gordito for Benelux in 2009, an other Dobles, for Spain in 2009/2010, a Sublimes for Switzerland in 2009, a robusto for Portugal in 2011… Total: 3 regular robustos and 4 "super robusto/robusto extra", plus two pyramids, one double corona and one 109… the lack is not that blatant to me! These are all "Limited" productions. HSA is playing that card quite successfully. Punch fans will always pick these up because the niche is there. What I was referring to is the lack of such a vitola in the regular line. Hence, the sustainable demand for this vitola.
Charltonc Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I have not been impressed with punch lately or punch regional editions. **** I think I will stick with my regular production cigars. I am trying hard not to drink the koolaid as much.
CaptainQuintero Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 I don't think those 3000 boxes will be going anywhere soon, list price is supposedly $440 for a box of 10.
maverickdrinker Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 time to wrapo my punch cigars in gold foil to increase the value. LOL
mk05 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Punch blend sucks imo and wrapping it foil aint gonna do it for me.
cigcars Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 That is a crazy price... That is still not as bad as $1,560 for 15 Monte or Cohiba Gran Reservas... :dollarsign:
CaptainQuintero Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Feedback from the H&F tasting seems to be underwhelming. People are saying it's very mellow and no one was blown away by it. They had literally just come off the boat but still.
