Strada Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 Great cigar store in Brussels: Cigar2 Brussels: FIY Brussels: Only available Brussels:
canadianbeaver Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Found a wonderful smoking spot on the outside seating ledge of Hotel Bloom. There was a riot outside after a football game with lined up riot police in full gear and everything. Also saw a full *** Pride parade today and visited the Magritte museum. The royal Palace and huge ornate buildings are exquisite! Off to Paris tomorrow by train.
Strada Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 Brussel in a nutshell: Dessert of the century: Habanos:
Strada Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 Hello from Paris: Dessert: This is what a 34k stove look like:
maverickdrinker Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 wonderful photos Lisa!!!! Really enjoying seeing the world through your camera lens. Thanks for sharing.
canadianbeaver Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 This^^^^ is in our living room apartment btw :-)
Puros Y Vino Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 This^^^^ is in our living room apartment btw :-) Nice! Lisa did you get it through that site I sent you? If so, let me know which place you picked. Have a great time!
canadianbeaver Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 No Frank, thanks anyway. This is a local lady with an agent in New York. That site you have me was either booked or not a good fit, I cannot remember which - but thank you so much for trying for us!! My daughter shopped locally and made us a beautiful dinner tonight. While she was cooking, Matthew and went out on the roof and smoked a couple of the long skinny LGC'S we had with Michel back in Amsterdam.
Squarehead Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Very nice pics Lisa and it's also nice to hear that you have a good time.
Strada Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Paris cigar purchase 1: Whts is actually in the box:
Smallclub Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Whts is actually in the box: Get more of the Punch Small Club if you can, it's a treat! (…and the name is so cool )
canadianbeaver Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I find that of you buy multiple cigars, vendors will oblige you with a nice box to put them in. If you say what kind of box and you are lucky ...
cottierm Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 That was the tradition in my native Switzerland. Happy to see that some good things do not change! Lisa, do you plan to visit Art Tabac? I'd like your point of view on this shop, if yes. Here is the address: Art Tabac 2 Place de Catalogne 75014 Paris Quartier: Montparnasse 01 40 47 66 50 Best, Michel
canadianbeaver Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 We saw that shop but we did not know what it was... It says Tabac everywhere but it really means nothing. And here's the bad news. After today and my Habanos ashtray, I have been cut off from buying more, since the duty free Ramone Allones await.
Smallclub Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 It says Tabac everywhere but it really means nothing. …just "tobacco"… in a country where only tobacco shops (bureaux de tabac) are licensed to sell tobacco products it means a bit more than nothing… There is no "cigar shop" in this country, even the most exclusive tobacconists are legally obligated to sell a range of cigarettes…
canadianbeaver Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 The coffee is lovely but the fois gras is what makes my heart sing
Lotusguy Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 The coffee is lovely but the fois gras is what makes my heart sing Mmmmm Foie Gras
Smallclub Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 The coffee is lovely but the fois gras is what makes my heart sing Then you must find a bottle of Coteau du Layon, a sweet white from the Loire Valley, that is much less pricey than the Sauternes traditionally associated with foie gras.
cottierm Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Coteau du Layon +1 on this, excellent recommendation. Best, Michel
Smallclub Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 And after foie gras on a quality parisian bread (toasted) boosted with Sel de Guérande, paired with a glass of Coteau du Layon, I recommand an aged RyJ – Exhibicion No.4 or Belicoso…
canadianbeaver Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 It was deleted by moderators for being ridiculous.
