My first topic started for a good long while.. A few years back a bought a boatload of Czars' fantastic cigars and still have more than enough to keep me for 5 years. I've been going through them and one I've kept coming back to is the Por Larranaga Montecarlo.. Just love that stick.. So much so, I'm starting to shy away from the larger ones.. I like the way the long and skinnys smoke, they seem cooler and often tend to hold their composure better. Maybe it's just me tho, what the heck to I know.

I emailed Czar about the availability of the Montecarlos and found out they are no longer available.. Bummer! What have been your alternatives to that fantastic panetela?

I had a Padron Series Pantatela (Non Cuban) this week that I was pleasantly surprised with by the way... Made be want to run buy the rest of the box from the local Cigar Store. Maybe I should just keep quiet so I can keep them to myself ;) The store owner made the comment as I was buying one of each long/skinny he had (only 4 out of hundreds of phat and phallics) that he didn't sell much of them..

Keeping it on the low low since 2012

Ether..

Welcome back mate! Funny to read what you wrote years ago... So where did we leave off? How about here: ... as good a place as any! Upmann Lonsdales... Yum! Gonna' smoke one

I am really the wrong guy to ask about what is smoking well today. I am back to buying cigars in 2015, but the cigars that I am getting are all on the 'come.' This is because I won't be smoking any of

Long and skinny ? for your viewing pleasure     Plenty of choices ?

PL Montecarlos are still being produced and readily available - I am sure Rob will get them back in stock.

I am a huge long-and-skinny fan. Some alternatives that are still in production would be: HDM Du Gourmet, LGC MDO #4, and of course Trini Fundadores, Monte Especial #1 & 2 and Cohiba Lanceros. Unfortunately, these kind of vitolas have been hit very hard with the deletions axe in recent years :tantrum:

PLMCs are not discontinued, at least not yet. Just smoking a very good one from 2011.

Interesting I just double checked the email I got from the shop and they for sure say they were discontinued.. Better hit up Prez on the subject.. Thanks!

LOL Piggy, I know where you stand, you're the one that turned me on to the little fellers! I give you 100% credit.

I had one last night from a box I got a couple months ago. Good stuff!

Looked at Trevor's cigar bible and it show that it is still current production.

I have been on a buying spree in the 5"-6"+ X 40ish rg lines and I can't get enough. The lonsdale size is my new favorite followed very closely by Robusto. Thanks to guys on here like Lotusguy I started trying them and can't get enough :)

I'm really getting into these too. I've always been a Lancero fan. So I stocked up on Cohiba's and Monte Esp1's. Recently ordered a long and skinny sampler from the Czar , which included the aforementioned lanceros, Monte Eps2's and VR Classicos. I recently got my hands on a five of Punch Ninfas (absolute heavenly smoke) :daydream: I'm looking to try some HdM Du Gourmets and the PL Montecarlos. I find that long and skinnies do smoke "cool" and are very flavourful. Take your time smoking them and they will reward you.

I take it back - long and skinnies SUCK!!!

Stay far FAR away from them :lookaround: !!!!

First you love me... then you'll want to kill me!!! -LOL

Don't fall in love with thin ring cigars! Your smoking future is limited. H SA is seeing to that, one cigar at a time. -the Pig

Knowing how I like to rattle the leaves and scare the snakes... here is one for you snakes!

Okay... this is a medium ring cigar and not a thin ring cigar! Can't gett'em anymore anyway... and that's my point!

Wow, as a big RA fan the 898 is one of my most sought after smokes. It's nice just to see some! I wish I'd been able to get some of the Partagas Serie du Connaisseur line as well.

I had exactly one RA 898 and it was fantastic, but in my all-time-favorite list of long-and-skinnies it was edged out by Punch Ninfas.

You guessed it - discontinued, of course.

Wish someone had turned me on to cigars sooner. Too many great cigars I missed out on.

Great picture.

ERDM Grandes de España.... possibly my favorite cigar next to SDC 1

Lets cut all delicados...... BRILLIANT

Outstanding cigars; truly one of my favorites. I happen to actually like the GdE better than the SdC but the SdC "was" a fine cigar line. It is a shame, I am truly disgusted by the thought of all that will never have the chance to sample many of these outstanding cigars!

Wish someone had turned me on to cigars sooner.

Mate... I have been drumming this monotonous tone since the date of my signing on here, which would be a few days after Rob opened the place up to us 'steerage' passengers! I have been beating this drum for a long time now. I wish a lot of people heard it earlier, just for the experience if nothing else.

Love the long and skinnies. Monte especial no. 1s, Trinidad Fundys and Cohiba lanceros are among my favorite cigars. I usually like to smoke them when I need time to just get away or when I indeed to think things through.

Wish I had the opportunity to stock up on the RA 898s. Only had a couple and they are fantastic.

I guess all ya gottta do to bring 'em back is buy them. Leave the Phat and Phallic's on the shelf..

I'm traveling this week and picked up some Dom/Nic cigars from a local place here in the States..

I've had 3 Padron Classic Pantetela Maduro's that I thought were very creamy. Nice bit of toasted espresso and leather in there..

I've had 2 ERDM Plantations that were creamy/peppery.

They both would be worthy of a box purchase for my collection and I must say I'm very surprised.

I'm gonna miss my PL MC's tho.. I've never had a bad one, heck or even a marginal one..

(ok here I go Piggy)

BUY LONG AND SKINNIES! :teacher:
