I will go on record to say that this may as well be the same blend, or at the very least extremely close, as the HdM EL petit piramide. Big supposition I know. But these sticks aren't exactly like the rest of the marca. I don't get full on peanut butter and cocoa powder that one should expect out of a Partagas P...Smoked it fairly quickly, in 30 mintues. Extremely close to the HdM petit piramides EL.

You smoked one in 30 Minutes???!!!!??? Damn!

The P1 I had was a lighter PSP2 as well. No pepper but the slight citrus was there. The partagas nutty tobacco flavor was there and I considered it a smoother lighter PSP2. Dollar for dollar still a PSP2 fan for size and smoke time but the P1 doesn't disappoint.

I've never gotten peanut butter from any partagas lol. Also +1 to lotusguy that is insane.

This is one of my favorite cigars, unfortunately consistency is virtually lacking. One might say this is my nemesis cigar. I'm smoked about a dozen of them and have a full jar which I haven't cracked but one batch of five I bought off a friend were very aromatic I'd open my humidor just to smell them. They had a deliciously fine appearance, perfectly filled and glorious sheen. One of them turned out to be so good I snapped a pic wtih the ash at two inches, was about a 95. Unfortunately the 2nd batch didn't look or smell like the first fiver and the ones in my jar look like the 2nd batch so resisting smoking them is quite easy. I've even had a plugged p1 which I was pretty furious about supposedly being rolled at fpg and costing 20 bux.

I find no relation to psp2 and don't really find those enjoyable. Disclaimer I haven't had a p2 in quite some time and not any recent production mine were all aged and dimensional. Wouldn't buy any.

it seems these fall into two camps...

one set of jars is very fresh, with grassy/hay qualities

another set of jars has a rich smell, with a lot of milk chocolate

sounds like you've had some from each camp. kind of luck of the draw on which jar you end of grabbing, unless you can open and inspect them in a shop.

I had a P1 sent to me and it was one of the best cigars I've had in a LONG time. With that one example I regretted missing this boat, but still they cost was a bit more than I'm comfortable paying for a box of rolled up tobacco. Probably a good bit of the cost went into the jar, which was cool. But outstanding cigar nonetheless!

Go figure, Habanos would do something RIGHT like the P1, yet add the D5 / E2 into regular production? The shame...
