My wife and I have an unwritten rule (hope to keep it stays that way): We don't ask each other about how much we pay for our vices. Mine being cigars, her's being jewelry and shoes.

Looking at my MODEST stock, looks to be approx around $6,000. And that's my current stock. I shutter to think how much I've spent in my cigar-smoking lifetime.

To me, that's shocking that my love for cigars runs this deep financially as I'm no Sultan of Brunei.

Then again, at least it wasn't on strippers and booze.

Sweet jumpin jesus christ! 6 large on cigars?! Your collection must be huge... I try to spend in moderation, my current stock would not stretch much past £1000 ($1500)

However i have just placed an order with Bob Staebell at aristocrat humidors for a new cabinet.

@ Shlomo

- I think its better I not know

@ CS

- My stock is ample. You'd be surprised how many people are in the 50-100,100-150, >200 boxrange.

I seriously have no idea how much I've spent over the last 12 years.... but even if I speculated I wouldn't be writing it down anywhere for fear of the purse strings being welded shut forever.

$3000+ over almost 4 years. Not extremely crazy I guess, but as a student that money should've gone to drinking, partying and traveling :P

Uhm - I've only taken the trouble to count the number of cigars I've purchased through some years when I was all excited and such...I've never really taken the time to pay much attention to the cost. Quite probably because I would have resembled Shrink's avatar!:surprised: :surprised: :surprised::dollarsign:

The short time I've been here at FOH I'd say I've dropped close to 10g's... That's not including my B&M purchases..... Man, now that I think of it, all I can say is wow....

Well I am newly remarried after a 5 year furlough. Rest assured the last 5 years were full of all kinds of vices including cigars, poker, booze, motorcycles, strippers (being honest) and women of questionable morals. Of course never at the same time. Now that I took a aluminum parachute from corporate America I really only have one vice that requires personal expenditures (thankfully) and that is motorcycles. My cigar expense is tidily disguised as inventory and quality control.

I recieved my first humidor last Christmas. Since then I have been to the bar twice. I dont care about beer anymore. I have spent somewhere in the ranged of 3,500$. I just sent 50% of my purchases to the troops so I could make room for my cubans. I wish y'all would have told me about this site when I started so I wouldn't have wasted so much on NC's. I have a plan to spen a couple grand in the next year. We will see.

I would estimate my current stock at around $X,XXX - $X,XXX. Obviously you can still tell I'm in the <50 box category, but dollar amounts are just numbers, and it comes down to what each of us are personally comfortable with.

This is how I look at it, would I rather have X amount just laying around extra in my bank account doing nothing or would I rather have that in cigars to enjoy? At my current amount, I would rather have the cigars to enjoy. When X amount becomes large enough, where for my personal situation, I say "Oh ****, that's a lot of money!", then I should back off.

As far as my wife is concerned, it's D.A.D.T.

The total cost is probably all relative to each of our individual situations. All I can say is my annual purchases are at or less than 1% of my income. I know my wife spends more on clothes than I do on cigars. And that, my friends, is my argument whenever she gives me that certain look when another box arrives! :teacher:

I had just come back from visiting the, err, ballet...

Around 15K over the last three years. I could have spent that in a much shorter period of time on things that got me into far more trouble than smoking a good cigar.

I don't even want to know how much I have spent on cigars in my lifetime. I know I spent over $3k in 2011, and that was just my purchases during two trips to Havana!
