asmith Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 OK I thought I best put it up on the forum, I'm not sure how they did it if their present form in the office is any indication. But on Friday the university offers came out for Queensland students and Ben (I can't see where I am going when I am driving Smithy's car and crashed it into another car before driving off and not leaving a note) Ayala was accepted into Bachelor of Science Geotech with complimentary eye check included. While his other partner in crime John (I thought the capital of USA was LA) MacGinley was accepted into Bachelor of Podiatry. I know they would never have posted this, so well done boys some great years ahead of you at Uni.

Ken Gargett Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 congrats to both. i thought ben's best line was on one of his many times when opening the door to his pissed father, who has lost the ability to use keys, at 3am, "you realise that this should be the other way round".
JohnnyC Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Congratulations to the young lads and their parents. Being a parent of a son who is now in Law School I no how proud the parents must be.

rock Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I am a podiatrist and I think John needs to know a little story. My brother was visiting his soon to be wife's family and he went outside to shoot some B-ball with her brother. Her brother started to ask what his brothers and sister did for a living? My brother said Oldest is a Lawyer, Next one is a doctor, Next has an MBA, and the next is a podiatrist. My brother said her brother got real quiet. Finally her brother said "That is too bad, when will he get out of prision?". My brother had to explain "he's a foot and ankle doctor, not a man that loves kids".
Fuzz AI Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Congrats gents! Use your time at uni well. Best/worst advice I ever got on my first day at uni was, "... and here is the Student Union Bar..." I never left the damn place after that!
headstand Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Congrats! A degree in geoscience can take you all kinds of places. If Ben has his dad's nose for business we'll soon be calling him the JR from Down Under.
asmith Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 Congrats gents! Use your time at uni well. Best/worst advice I ever got on my first day at uni was, "... and here is the Student Union Bar..." I never left the damn place after that! Yes I do recall Danny Thomas turning to me at 45mins into the first lectures, saying lets go to the Uni Bar. So I hadn't even comleted my first lecture before I was sipping on a cold beer at the uni bar. Great times.
