What are your opinions on these cigars? I have not tried either one and want to know the goods and bads of each. Thanks! :ok:

Choix supreme, smoking through a box of nov 09 and this for me is one the top 5 cigars I've had this year.

Highly impressed w/ERDM's period. The Connie you mentioned is indeed very, very good - but THIS sister of the leaf loves El Rey Del Mundo!

Never been hugely impressed with the connie, there are better Upmann out there for me. Never tried the choix before but the lonsdales are excellent if a tad uneventfull. If you like leather and cream go with the Connie, if you like fruit (Always melon for me in the lonsdales) go with the Choix :)

If you like Upmann, go Connie 1. I prefer Upman to ERDM, so it is an easy choice for me.

I always have liked both.

In my experience, if you compare two examples fairly young, like 1-2 years, the Choix Supreme clearly wins -

honey sweet, toasted hazelnut and almonds, a touch of cinnamon, fruit, and very floral.

After 3-4 years, the Upmann might be ahead as it seems to build more depth in flavour over time -

Milk coffee, cream, walnut, sweet autumn leaves, dried herbs and above all, the purest toasted tobacco.

Both highly recommended!

I bought a Czar robusto sampler last year. It had about 13 different marcas robustoish sizes and i bought 2 of each for comparison. I went through the 1st round in a 3 to 4 months and found Connie 1 come out tops besides the big marcas ie cohiba and partagas. Therefore i bought a box Connie 1, now i'm goin through the 2 round and found ERDM and RASS tops (there's still a few sticks left). ERDM in the 1st round was one of the worst performing sticks. So there you go, i dont think i answered your question just adding to the confusion.

Agreed 100% And, less construction issues with the Connoisseur No.1.

Can't comment on the ERDM at least not the robusto size. I have smoked an 09 box of Connie 1 and not a dud in the box, due prefer the mag 46 though.

Totally Agree. I have a box of each from 2009. Choix Supreme reigns supreme in my opinion.

X3 and a great point

As my Connies aged, my apreciation for them did too. A couple of years on my 08s and they make me smile as much as a Mag46 or Sir Winny, just a little different, but definately Upmann.

My problem with the CS is that I likely have not had a good example. Maybe the same issues here for the folks whome don't like the Connie 1.

So many cigars, so little time!

Hands down ERDM CS.

Don't believe what any of the above have said about the CS . . . :rotfl: I have tried my hardest to find any redeeming merit in them--other than that they're cheap--and trust me, I have tried PLENTY. I WANT to like them, but can't and just don't understand where everyone is coming from on this one.

I have several SLB's of C1's in my humi and no, they aren't my favorite HU (that would be the M46 which is one of my favorite overall smokes), but with age they're incredible. I'm working on some '06's that were some of my first Czar purchases and they're very unique. Not heavy, but still have that unique HU taste.

I guess if we all like the same thing it would get pretty boring around here.
