I know this doesn't happen every day but the Australian Air Force did a flyby of the new Super Hornets to celebrate the opening of the new Czar Deck. Now don't get me started on how useless these jets are that is a debate for another day. I am also sure that many of our clients living in the Middle East or Libya will say they have these sort of thing happen every day but for us it is a bit of a novelty.

Not the greatest photos but you get the idea.

Smithy is that a one off or are you making the best out of new offices in a flight path.

It was a one off, we are a little further away from the flight paths to the airport, which sucks a little as I enjoy a bit of plane spotting.

Our government had heard that Club Czar had moved and was just trying to find out where they were now.

Spare no expense, said Julia Guillard.

These people are rebels and we must find out what shenanigans they are up to now.

This happened on the very day that our President was seen to be installing some very dark pull down blinds on the top deck of the new HQ.

No expense has been spared in erecting these new defense shields at Club Czar so I suspect that this lavish display of air defences has proven yet another failure by our less than effective government.

Or I might just be paranoid and need to make myself a new tin foil hat. :lookaround: :lookaround: :lookaround:

Actually what happened today is that Australia took delivery of the last four F18's that replace our old F111's.

The first 16 Hornets flew north to greet the new planes and fly back with them to Amberly air base.

We will probably never see them all together in formation like this again.

Smithy,

Just curious - What don't you like about the new Super Bugs? In the U.S., they could be considered the most advanced tactical aircraft in the inventory, although I still believe the F-15E has an edge, especially with its larger payload and longer "legs". Its radar, avionics, and weapons capability are without peer, at least for the time being. They will serve the RAAF just fine, IMO.

One of the main reasons it has been criticized here in the U.S. is the bird it replaced (the F-14 Tomcat) was so highly regarded (and rightfully so), that nothing would ever be thought of as a worthy successor.
