Im sure at one time or another this topic has been posted but whatever. The words "greatest of all time" GOAT get thrown around way too liberally in the cigar world. What really are your 2 personal faves if you could only pick 1 everyday smoke and 1 special occasion smoke? It must be a cigar you have smoked previously, no hypotheticals. In other words what would you smoke if you knew you would die tomorrow. No one be stupid as to pick a cigar theyve never tried if its going to be their last. Obviously everyone will have different opinions which is why i find it interesting. I also want to see any patterns that may arise. Forget the masses and just think of your own personal taste. What would it be if you had to choose right now? Oh and no pre embargo stuff.. cigars you could actually locate now or in the past 20 years.

I had a BBF with only 3 years on it that was soo perfect. Taste, evolution, draw, pure 'smokebility'... well I had tears in my eyes. So that specific BBF would be the 'one'. As for a lesser 'the one' my choice would be a MC esp. #2

I'm actually quite fascinated with what I come up with given the parameters. Had better smokes but ultimately other values seem to put in more weight.

Well Matt, If it was to be an everyday smoke, I'd keep the same as I have today,

my HdM Epicure No.1

Now, for that very special, greatest, best, most wonderful etc. etc. etc.

It will have to be the H.Upmann,1492 from a 50 count humidor dating from 1992,

I smoked it for New Year 2000-2001,

It was simply the BEST EVER cigar I've ever smoked, ...........well,............ of course,

If something better shows up, I sure as hell won't spit on it, so, until then, that was the

"GREATEST CIGAR OF ALL TIMES" for me.

the only reason i made rules is because if not, people start coming up with all sorts of imaginary bs fantasy cigars. like a 1960s punch dunhill, cuban pre-embargo davidoff etc etc etc. lol...... but seriously if anyone does have pre embargos to donate..... hit me up...... lol

For that everyday cigar I would go with the 08 CoRo's I have now. They are turning out to be fantastic! That one special "last smoke" I would have to say one of my Punch Churchill from 2005. They too are beginning to really become grand. Nice thread!

Regular rotation- 2002 Partagas Lonsdale

Best cigar ever- Taboada double robusto, smoked in Havana about 30 minutes after being rolled by the master

Best ever regular production- 92 Partagas Lusi.

Probably was a salamone rolled by Reynaldo about ten years ago while sitting in the restaurant at Hostal Valencia in Habana Vieja. Although I don't really have an affection for Reynaldos smokes this one was beyond incredible with a spicy perfumed deep tobacco flavour that was mind blowing. I'm sure the ambience of the situation as well as the company that night ( Abel Exposito & Benito Molina & "Johnny Cigar from Correntis in Toronto) contributed to the WOW factor but everyone at the table agreed with me and there was a lot of deep reflection by all at the table. I can't wait for that to happen again but I think we can all agree that smoking a cigar in Havana takes on special meaning.

The most satisfying cigar I've smoked is an Upmann Tang Monarch. Everything I love about a 10-year old Sir Winston in spades.

My favorite everyday smoke is either the Partagas Shorts or the Magnum 46. Very seldom do these boys ever disappoint.

My all time every day cigar is definitely the Partagas SdC#3. Too bad this one is no longer around :(

My all time occasional favorite is the RA 8-9-8 from 02. Simply wonderful!

Cohiba Esplendido with over 10 yrs. of age on it. Even smoking it outdoors in hot weather, it was clearly the best cigar I've ever smoked. So much that I want to buy a few boxes and put them down for 5+ years, but budgetary constraints prevent that.

Regular rotation RA 8-9-8

Greatest cigar, ones that stand out to me

`03 Regios smoked in `06 . Box pressed completely square was like smoking a piece of lego but rocked my world!

HDM 2 smoked in `07 when they came back on form, incredible

Cohiba DC smoked a couple XMAS`s ago, far better than the Sublime IMHO.
