kiwiman911 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Hi all My girlfriend started to smoke my cigars, but she finds the ring gage to big. Gave her a noella from a jar; she liked the size and the lenght, but found the last third too strong. She says they could be a bit thinner and smaller and it would be ok.Did a search on Trevors site but came up with too many choices I have limited experience with thinner CC and would like to get a box for her so we can smoke together. I think she like them more on the mild to medium side any suggestions by the very knowledgeable BOTL in this forum would help in my choice thanks
Lotusguy Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Well, there are plenty of Panetelas and Coronitas... I would recommend a PL Montecarlo, for example, or a Hoyo Du Gourmet. My wife also enjoys the new RyJ Julieta (the one that comes in the aluminum pack of 5). Have your wife try a Trini Reyes which is a favorite of many (including me), but it is less on the lighter side. And then of course, there are the LgC MdO #3 or #4, if you can find them. Very fruity.
laficion Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Yes, I'll go with the PL Monte-carlo also, my wife enjoys them a lot.
tmac77 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Trini Reyes and San Cristobal El Principe are two that my wife likes from time to time. I have not tried the new RyJ Julieta yet but that is another suggestion. LGC MdO #3 and 4 as noted by lotus are great but scarse.
riazp Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 ERDM Demi-tasse, Montecristo Joyitas are cigars that come to mind.
CanuckSARTech Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I would say Romeo y Julieta stuff for on the light-to-medium-light bodied side of things. It also has a lighter stewed cherries hint to them, so that seems to attract relative newbies. There are two standards that I always keep in my humidor for those that are newer to cigars and just want to "try something new out". For lighter palates. RyJ Coronitas en Cedro, and the RyJ Romeo No. 2 tubos. Both have attractive packaging, and are fairly inexpensive (so if they aren't liked, then a 1/2 smoked cigar isn't a big loss to throw away). My suggestions anyways.
Strada Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 My girlfriend had the same problem with the larger gage. She liked RyJ no3, PPC, BPC. The cigar that made her change was a RASS. Ever since then she has been comfortable with larger gage. She still dont want to try the longer ones like Lusi, Hoyo DC ....
KB24 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Sounds like your girlfriends just aren't used to thicker things in their lives!!!! Thank you folks. I'll be here all day. Make sure to tip your waitress!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Torontonian Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Yes, I'll go with the PL Monte-carlo also, my wife enjoys them a lot.
matt14 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Cohiba Exquisto, rolled without Ligero so strength shouldnt be an issue.
MIKA27 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 -Trinidad Reyes -Cohiba Secretos -Punch Punch -Punch Royal Selection 11 or 12's (If you can find them)
sg1234 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Buy LGC MdO3's for her; end up smoking them all yourself.

I smoked one with my girlfriend last night before bed. She enjoyed it. Good luck!
Hohenthal Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Agree on Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse and Por Larranaga Montecarlos; my wife (a non smoker herself) likes if I have (apart from any other Rey del Mundo) Partagas Connaisseur Nr.2. Best Quality cigar smell according to her. She still has great taste even if she married me...
