melies Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Can somebody confirm if the Trinidad robusto extra are also gone? I mean if they are deleting the 12 packs and the carton packs what is there left? They don't come in any other format do they?
Guest RobinFadal Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Noooooooo! Damn shame. Okay it was confirmed to me that the Trinidad Robusto T is being discontinued...
Wil Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 i just said a prayer to the cigar gods (serious) There are cigar gods? I just found religion...
baragh Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Good question. Here is what I think H SA will be cutting in the next few years: RASS 50 ct cab JL 2 50 ct cab Hoyo du Gormet du Marie Palmas Extra HU Corona Major and Minor and Regalias Monte Open Line Partagas PCE I feel that nothing in the QdO, Dip, Cuaba, Fonseca, RG, PL line is safe. Of course this is just speculation on my part. Pretty soon we will be down to only dress boxes, which I personally hate for any type of aging. Agreed with the Hoyo's, I just bought a box of Du Maire and I got sent 05's....
riazp Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Agreed with the Hoyo's, I just bought a box of Du Maire and I got sent 05's.... thats not a good sign at all...
aes8 Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Agreed with the Hoyo's, I just bought a box of Du Maire and I got sent 05's.... Nice, That's definately a Ravi move. It's like double Christmas when I get a package from him and I turn over the box to look at the code. It was like winning the lottery when I got a Cab of TEB08 Lusis a while back.
stinkhead Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Deletions are a shame especially if you like long and skinnys like I do
bassman Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Okay it was confirmed to me that the Trinidad Robusto T is being discontinued... just to let you know all LG Tanios and Bolivar Corona Extra are gone , we may get more in 6- 8 months but who know... I am not happy about it always seems as soon as the list appears the cigars on the list dry up fast... someone hording maybe Hoarding Bolivar Corona Extras? Guilty!
Ghabanos Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Hoarding Bolivar Corona Extras? Guilty! Sure a bit of hording but in the end we always share the love with other botl

It was like winning the lottery when I got a Cab of TEB08 Lusis a while back. You guessed right =) Was very excited to turn it over and see the code, but kind of bitter-sweet when getting regular stock that old from a deletions perspective =( All we can do is hoard our unloved vitolas as best we can I guess
bassman Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Sure a bit of hording but in the end we always share the love with other botl Absolutely!
goalie204 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I'm looking on the bright side. Sure some good cigars are being discontinued, but there are still a **** TONNE of other fantastic cigars, and currently no shortage of good stuff to smoke
baragh Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I'm looking on the bright side. Sure some good cigars are being discontinued, but there are still a **** TONNE of other fantastic cigars, and currently no shortage of good stuff to smoke That's true, but as someone who's relatively new to the hobby, I feel like a lot of good stuff is getting phased out before I've had a chance to try it (I like skinnies, short and long and what remains is mostly wide RG). Got the rest of my life to try the others that will still be around. Pretty excited about this RG Perla though! Maybe there is hope!
dicko Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I know there are lots of boli's left, but the loss of the CE punches a big hole in the bolivar line-up IMO. Mid-sized ring guage between the great petit coronas and coronas juniors, and the Boli RC's and gigantes on the bigger side. also flavour wise, slightly different flavour profile to the others. shame
Guest rob Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I really sulked when the Bolivar Immensas was discontinued a couple of years ago..... but consoled myself by telling myself that I'll survive because there was still the Bolivar Corona Extra to keep me going.... what will I tell myself this time around??

When I came around to CC (although I smoked NC for 15+ years prior) in 08 I had to wrestle with first finding my palate of current stock but then also determining what I wanted to stock up on that was on the current list of deletions (GdE, SdC 1/2/3, du Roi). At that same time I had access to some stock that was killed off in the 02-06 deletions. But that window of opportunity was closing. I was very fortunate to befriend some very sophisticated CC connoisseur that helped guide me along the way. One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was "sometimes cigars are just old". After a 3 year buying binge I feel that I have pretty much covered my basis from 98 to now but with a few exceptions, which makes the chase fun. Good luck.
BonVivant Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Bolivars, discontinued that is, are getting thin, not that the other deletions are flourishing. Let's hope HSA reconsiders?

Thanks - gonna need the luck, and a fat wallet. I'm also planning out my hitlist of endangered cigars.
CanuckSARTech Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 A sad day in the world of Cuban Cigars as Habanos SA announces which cigars will be discontinued, Rob is not happy. Un-fing-believable. SOBs.
dcse Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 It's somehow like reading the obituaries, hoping not to find a friend, an ex or a relative listed among the dead. Every year the same shock, and a reminder: Enjoy life, honour the dead, believe in resurrection.
finecigar Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I feel like I just was at a funeral, Jesus christ ....my day has been going downhill since the very start, and now this news I read, wow. That is terrible... 26 different cigars them selves or cigar options of great and to me: great cc's... Don't know how much worse my day can get now
lemmycaution Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Looking forward to more of Rob's Customs. Maybe we'll just have to fill the void that way. No band, no hype, just great cigars...
