TankerT Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I normally either sit on my deck, and just listen to the birds, etc... Or, I read. Normally don't do music while I'm smoking.
stefan850 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I'm more passionate about music then I am about cigars (I play piano since I was 5 years old and In general involved with music whole my life while I started smoking cigars just a couple of months ago) so it's the other way around for me, I don't listen to music while I smoke a cigar, I light up a cigar while I listen to music But I do find that I have the greatest urge to light up a cigar when I listen to some music that invokes certain feelings. That can be feeling of loneliness, melancholy or the "feeling"/"vibe" of leaving things behind, moving on, that sort of thing:) For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S258ZT5DbZY Those two and some hundred more songs, when I listen to them during the night, they just beg me to have a nice drink and smoke a cigar.
bstarrs Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I almost always listen to music on my ipod while smoking unless I bring my laptop out with me. I listen to a mixed bag of stuff, some old school country like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willy Nelson etc, Indie rock or Indie folk, or some ambient electronic. If it's night time my absolute favorite music to listen to is from a UK producer called Burial. His music is perfect if you're smoking by yourself late at night with no one else around. You guys should check it out, I didn't like his stuff at first but then I "got" it. Same thing I went through with Radiohead. Burial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKs0fL2PwWk Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but to me it's pretty amazing.
gr8tdanz Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Band of Heathens, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Blackberry Smoke, Reckless Kelly, Steve Azar, Pillars of Society (local original band). It's music that is how I like my cigars. Bold and natural. Earthy and real. I can't stand most mainstream new music. It is such meaningless drivel,
CaptainQuintero Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Ludovico Einaudi has been my staple for at least a year, amazing music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6zA1KuAJqM
finecigar Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I stick to the classics that are in my opinion very genuine, crisp, and real. Just like a fine cigar. One of my favorite artists who I know every song just about by is Neil Young. Also love Journey, Elton John, this artist Shawn Smith who I discovered through the Sopranos(best show ever!), REO speedwagon, Styx, Dawes, and many more. Music taste is very wide. The only kind I can't stand is this rap and complete **** played every nowadays... Excuse my language but it seems appropriate in the case.
stefan850 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Doesn't get better than this IMHO Agree. Although my favorite songs are Shine on you crazy diamond and Comfortably numb
PuffDaddie Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I listen to either miles or coltrain, jazz baby. :
BobKincaid Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Had a very nice cigar the other day while listening to the Del McCoury Band's "Del and the Boys." "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" is an especial favorite.
theholmesmob Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Anything funky like these boys, James Brown.... an aussie band The Bamboos.... stuff to keep the toes tapping for sure....
Maron76 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Great topic! I love spinning vinyl while enjoying a cigar. I think tonight I may play some Norah Jones.....
melies Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Well pinkfloyd is always great, but there is nothing greater for me than Buenavista social club! yeah I'm a walking cliche!

thechenman Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 When I sit down to enjoy a fine habano...I'm very selective of the music that I will be immersing myself into...that being said...I usually relax with my all-time favorite album. It just doesn't get any better than this...
