CDNeh sent to me by a mate. he has caught some whoppers but not that one. it was from mauritius and went about 65 kilos. i think it was on poppers and no idea if it was released. i've got a tiny one on fly but it was only a kilo or two. just born, i think. have hooked a few monsters - one pulled me about ten foot along a strip of sand before breaking off 9i really need to adjust the drag!!). i did see one hoovering up anything it could find on a reef at christmas island. at least that size. in shallow water - about 2/3rds out of water and it was like a small silver car. or grumpy hippo. fortunately, it was out of casting reach (no smartarse comments, thanks). extraordinary sight. Ken Gargett Posted July 27, 2011 Share Posted July 27, 2011 A lot of these look photo-shopped!! i have no idea (when you say 'a lot', there are only two?) but if i was going to learn to photoshop, i think i'd like to be able to put myself in and not some blokes i've never met. mine came from a mate and i can't imagine he'd bother either. he has caught enough seriously big fish himself. as for the other one, again no idea but it looks like it might have been speared. entirely possible. No malice intended Ken, sorry about that. What i meant by "a lot" was so many of these types of photos out there certianly raise an eyebrow. Pics not limited to fish ofcourse, I have seen Dinosaur like bears, gators, birds, etc. Technology is amazing, tough to tell fakes from reality, I suppose same goes for cigars and who would have thought a little boy could take down the illusive Tasmanian Giant Pig by himself!! It's probably the same size as the one in the second pic. The Hawaiian name for the Trevally is Ulua, and a 100 lb Ulua is the holy grail for fishermen and divers in Hawaii.
