San Cristobal de la Habana El Principe

Recommended Posts

Just came in from a wonderful morning smoke on a glorious weather day. Enjoyed this with my morning coffee and paper. Until I was kindly requested to "put the f#*king camera down" and go watch my son out front playing with his buddies....hence the finale shot before I was actually finished smoking. Thanks goodness I love him. Anyhow, the review...

THis is by far and away my favourite short smoke, and this particular specimen was no let down. Great construction and really bold aroma at cold. Even sitting outside I could smell the open box from several feet away. Clip the cap off and perfect draw. Opens with buttered bread with maybe a dash of spice, then cue the caramel and coffee undertones for the second third with mouthfulls of creamy smoke throughout. Final third back to rich toasted tobacco showing off its fine Cuban pedigree. A truly remarkable half corona that never let up for 40 minutes. This particular box was purchased during a trip we took to Havana last October. I'm currently scheming my next journey down there.

Hope you enjoy the review and pics!

Thanks for the review. I was almost ready to jump on the box of these that came up in LFTH last week. They look and sound fantastic.

I do have one question though - what the hell are those Guantanamera's doing there? :D

very valid question indeed LOL. my friend, who made the humidor for me, went to Cuba on his honeymoon and brought those back a s a gift. I was gracious, knowing full well I would not smoke them, but that they will make nice giveaways to friends who "wanna smoke some cubans" after a few too many cocktails ;)
