asmith Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 We are progressively finding out which Cuban Cigar has the highest rate of member satisfaction (and the lowest). I will run through the 30 most popular cigars during April and will provide an ongoing chart to see how the cigars stack up. It should go without saying to only vote if you have actually tried one Feel free to post your experiences and thoughts on the thread Todays cigar: Bolivar Royal Corona

headstand Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Despite my avowed love of Bolivars in general, I have to say the Royal Corona I tried a few weeks back was a disappointment: too spongy to start off with, and lacking the intense taste I expect from the brand - i was cautioned about this when I made the purchase and sure enough it left me wanting. But I will likely try another before getting Lisa to scratch it off my wish list...
sharks Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 My first few from my current box had been nothing but ordinary. After 6 months they have come good and since then all have been quite enjoyable spices and cream Sharks
Tarks Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Awesome cigars with 5+ years. I haven't smoked any from recent years but I have been happy with all that I have smoked from the early 2000's.

Habanos2000 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Always present in my humidor, a good BRC is an experience to remember. Unfortunately I've found the typical BRC to be a bit more common and when it's that level, it's just an OK cigar.
mazolaman Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 When I compare this to the Cohiba rhobusto, the Royal has always had a rich, spicy flavour that is not present in the cohiba. Always good for me.
thechenman Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I've never smoked a good BRC, not from a tube, not from a box...to me the BRC is a pox.
bassman Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I smoked a magical BRC bought at the Buenos Aires LCDH in 2004. Only one I've ever had that impressed me- and overall Bolivar is my favorite.
josie67 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 My favorite robusto, and in my top ten overall cigars. This is my wife's all time favorite cigar..she likes it so much that she currently has 3 boxes in our humidor.
ksblazer Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 While the Boli RC has never blown me away. I would say from the ones I've smoked thay have been a good cigar.
SCgarman Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Love it!, smoking through a March 08 box now and have a full Feb 08 box still sleeping!
jedipastor Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Always great for me! A bit lighter than some other Bolis, but they have a floral character that I like, and also seem creamier. Probably my favorite robusto. I'm looking forward to seeing how the HQs are
Dbone Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I wouldn't say my time spent with the BRC's have been average or bad, so I voted good. There's a sharp bite the BRC's produce which I've found to be enjoyable.
