Hi Guys,

You don't hear much about SCDLH anywhere so I wanted to know what the members here think.

Thanks!

My favorite is the Oficios. I bought a box from early 06 that I smoked in 2009/2010 - these were much better than any Punta/Fuerza I have ever smoked.

I have smoked many boxes of El Principe in the past, but it seems that they've lost their qualities recently, and suffer from construction issues…

The weakest of the line is the El Moro (IMHO) - it's so boring that I never managed to smoke one entirely…

I have not tried the brand yet, you don't hear many folks talk much about it.

I like this brand very much.

When the wrappers are dark I get molasses, peanut brittle, caramel and coffee. Lighter wrappers give me a rich creamy smoke with vanilla, coffee and spices.

Smoked my first Mercaderes tonight to see if I wanted to buy some at an auction.....I did.

Every La Punta I've had was great....

Sweet, creamy, very floral, and a taste that was unique to that brand/cigar.

Havent smoked much from this line.

I too acquired some Oficios in '06 and some of the other sizes. I really enjoyed the cherry notes in this cigar. But liked the Oficios size the best.

Not sure why I havent gone after more of them. :)

Just about finished smoking thru a box of 05 Mercaderes that were sensational ! Like the oficios and El principe but the Mercaderes is the class of this line. Unfortunately they wont be around much longer as I read recently they will be on the deletion list very soon. Im on the hunt for a 06 box right now that if I get im gonna try and have more self control and NOT smoke thru them as fast as I did this last box!

SCDH was fantastic in 2001. Principes, Puntas & Morros all excellent. Haven't had anything since that came close. Officios are the worst. Totally devoid of flavor to me.

I have only tried a few San Cristobal vitolas, but I think the El Principe is hard to beat. It has an awesome flavor profile and the price is right.

I've smoked the entire SCdLH marca, and my favorite vitolas would be the El Principe followed by the Oficios and the the La Punta. Great mild cigar...I actually veer from my norm as I like the lighter wrapper on these cigars. Great morning cigars.

For me is the Muralla, lovely cigar, but only when you have time :o

Agree 100%. Good summer smoke on the deck when you have 2+ hours.

Agree wholeheartedly. I really enjoy the La Fuerza - a very nice corona gorda, construction and blend on these are always spot-on, I find. It's really my only like of the line, but similar in vein to the RASS for me as another example, as they're both dependable, have a very pronounced flavour profile to them, and are a change from my norm.

Just smoked a Principe today, my second ever. Wasn't totally blown away but there were some nice moments of flavor. Just doesn't please my palate as much as Shorts or even the Monte 5. other vitalos I've had did not give me much flavor or enjoyment.

I've tried the San Cristóbal de la Habana Muralla, La Punta, & La Fuerza. San Cristobal's in general are not my favorite cigars to smoke, but I do enjoy them ever so often. The last box I had was from '07. I'm actually going to give them a try again. I'm expecting a box of La Punta's in the next couple days. Excited to see how they look and taste.

I don't think you will be disappointed.

I tried a La Fuerza in Cuba on my last trip and enjoyed it immensely. On that trip, it stood out from the Trinidad Coloniales, RASS and H. Upmanns (Mag 50 I think) that I tried. Best cigar of the trip.

I got the flavours of molasses, peanut brittle and sweet spices mentioned in previous posts.

I think I have also tried a Unicos on a previous trip, but I can't recall anything but a slight tobacco headache, so it must not have left much of an impression.

I've been enjoying a box of The El Principe.More robust than you'd expect it to be but very flavourful and sweet,a nice go to smoke when limited by time.Haven't tried anything else in the marca.
