My friend , there is only one thing you need to know.

There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

Seems to rain every Saturday in Melbourne. Had some very wet games of golf. Hate playing golf in the rain, but still better than being at work.

I like to lounge around the house, but that will only last for so long.

The next step is to go about like it isn't raining at all. A casual stroll through the rain is fantastic, and it is strangely satisfying to see the pissed off looks people give you because you're happy about it while they huddle under an inefficient umbrella getting almost as wet as you.

That being said, I can be a bit weird.

God, Rob. Come to Malaysia, then complain about the rain will ya.

We get Australia's total rainfall per annum here in just about a week and a half.

We have had nothing but snow for a week. We finally broke down and bought a Nintendo Wii. Pretty damn fun, and the time goes by before you know it.

I like to go for a walk in the forest here. There is nothing that can compare to the smell of fresh rained-on earth in a lush green forest. Also, I take an 84 inch Golf umbrella with me so I stay dry as a bone. Not going to have any of that dumbass rain get ME wet!

Have the kids put on their bathing suits and go out to play in the rain. If you have a trampoline in the yard even better or if you have a pool let them swim in the rain, my kids love this! just so long as there's no lightining. I''ve got my kids trained like Pavlov's dog, as soon as they hear the lightining detection horn at the local golf course...they come running into the house.

*When my brother & sister were still in their single digit years (I was the oldest & had to tend to some needs/wants) & when they wanted something (like a sandwich I had to fix), I'd go into my act. At that time the only real entertainment on TV, young person-wise, were those 1940's thru '50's horror & science fiction films. I'd suddenly look around up in the air and go, "Uh oh - Uh oh - UH OH...THE BRAIN EATERS ARE COMIN', THE BRAIN EATERS! Quick, get under the covers and stay so they can't find ya!" They (and I) would get under covers and not make a sound. "SHH! Quiet...s' they can't hear you!" I'd whisper. After some time...they'd fallen asleep, and I beat the rap again at having to be taxed fixin' a sandwich.

Maybe you can get some quiet time trying something like that with the small ones...

Just a thought*

Rob, you need to buy a Playstation 3 and argue with the kids if you should play or them! Smoking a cigar is always good and last but not least it is always fun to skid around with the car :D

Definately video games...

They are great excercise for the brain. Increases hand eye cordination to. Atari, Nintendo, Playstation and Xbox I've played them all. I can't imagine life without video games.
