First of all....Rob and moderators...if this post is inappropriate here feel free to delete. If this is not the appropriate forum and you want it elsewhere...move it. I just read the forum rules again and I believe this is okay. I'm giving a heads up to brothers and the community....so they don't get stiffed like me...

Gentlemen,

August 14th of this year I placed an order just north of $100.00 for some shelves from Chuck for my wine coolers. He accepted my money...I recieved a computer generated email...stating that I would be receiving the shelves(most scatch and dent shelves) which appeared to be in inventory and scratched and dented. Today it's December 1st and I don't have any shelves from my order. I have emailed Chuck over the last the last several months 8-10 times...most likely more. I've emailed him directly from his contact email form on his site...at least three times.

He has NEVER responded to any of my inquiries via email or his contact form on his website. PoPay(my cash payment to Chuck) only allows you to dispute a transaction within 45 days of your order.

It appears that I am out $100.00 as he won't respond to me. In addition I have PM'd him on this site and one other. NO RESPONSE!!!

I think it's important for folks in the Cigar Community to share information about Vendors like this. That's part of why we have these forums.

I don't take this posting likely. I have given Chuck the way way way benefit of the doubt on this. The $100.00 loss hurts for sure in these tough times...but to be completely ignored by someone who was spoken so highly of here on this forum and others SUCKS!!!

Beware of Chuck and Chasidor Stores...humidors.

If folks want to see my order and payment confirmation I would be happy to post. I have and am posting my experience on other forums. There is an informative thread taking place over at Cigar Asylum.

Thanks Tom

More then likely you will get your shelves in the future. And more then likely Chuck will continue to have communication problems with his customers. It took me almost 6 months for a 8 week order a year and a half ago. Sorry to hear about your problems.

I'm still waiting 2 months for an initial reply to an email. In this day in age, whatever business you are in, not responding to an email, that's just bad business IMO. NO ONE is too busy to respond. It takes a few seconds. All a customer needs initially is a "yes I'm on it" or a "sorry going to be a bit later". Not communicating is a cardinal sin.

That's great information. I expected slow service going into this. What I didn't expect is no communication after a dozen inquiries. If he responded to me just a couple of times over the past 3.5 months after I sent the money I would be fine.

Lack of communication leads to all kinds of ugliness. Zero communication....is simply UGLY!!!

The post can stay if you show me where he was spoken highly of on this forum? I can't recall but there is plenty I can't recall.

Thanks Rob...

I did a copy and paste from a thread I started on Cigar Asylum....which is where I found this gentleman. I modified it...for my post here. He is mentioned as a vendor for cedar shelves for Wine coolers mentioned on our site. (FOH). If you search Chasidor you will see his name mentioned here and many occassions. . He was highly recommended elsewhere...but IMHO recommended here casually. Please check my thread mentioned above. If you want to pull this no problem. Not a lot of people do what he does for the communities...and I wanted to give all a heads up.

Tacid....advertising in Bart's humidor thread.

Well, its been a long journey but here are some pics of my Vino with new Chasden shelves and drawers along with my new cigars. There is a glass top to these cedar lined drawers that maintains the temp and RH nicely and prevents sudden spikes when opening and closing the Vinotemp.

I bought 3 single and 2 double drawers with extra dividers. I like them b/c I dont have a lot of room in the Vino for my smokes.

I use about 3 lbs of 65% beads spread around and have two CPU fans running.........overkill, yes, but my results are perfect so I am content

My Vino is between 62-64* and 61-65%RH every day year round here in NC, I finally have it where I want it after farting around with it for weeks

Enjoy!

Bart

Rob,

There are several others posts...I can reference for your review. (ChasDen) is his user name on forums. I won't lose any sleep over this is you want to delete....I just want to give a heads up to others.

Thanks Tom

Rut row raggy! I bought a single drawer just to see what he could do about 3 months ago, and haven't received anything either.

Also fired a few emails his way no reply. Was looking to grab some shelves also.

All of this is very upsetting & unfortunate.

He will indeed have to clear up this situation quite rapidly,

the sooner the better . :buddies:

Ordered a plain shelf and drawer in August and recevied them in November. I emailed the guy once and never heard back, just automated emails. The units are nice, but not the "work of art" some people describe them as. Any seasoned finish carpenter could duplicate these easily. I would definitely not be dropping hundreds of dollars on stained or exotic woods with the lack of communication.

I bought some shelves from Chasidor. I emailed him twice with some questions and he never responded. Then I went ahead and put in an order anyway for some standard Vinotemp 28 shelves for like $65 (figured what the heck, it's only $65). They wound up arriving pretty quickly -- within 2-3 weeks of my payment. I then emailed him about a custom order and he never responded. I have to say that it worked out with the shelves I did order and receive. But this guy has probably the most abysmal customer service in the history of retail.

I don't know what it is Tom but customer service just seems to be a thing of the past; some present company excluded!

I know this does you no good but it is probabley good for a laugh. Ever try to get a fix of a 'lifetime' garage door opener from Genie? Probably not.

For the past year, whenever it rains my garage door trips my GFI breaker. It has slowly pissed me off to the point that I figure I need a new one! I change breakers, I even change circuits... no fix, the opener is kaput! But wait... I have a life guarantee door opener!!! So I call the folks at Genie.

The Genie (now outta' the bottle) at the other end goes through a myriad of questions as to how the operator is not operating. I tell her the story and she tells me that I need a new controller board. Okay, whatever, I say, get someone over here to fix it! She asks me for my receipt. I bought the opener 9 years ago... from one of those stores that prints their receipts on dissappearing thermal paper, so what receipt I reply. I thought the damn thing has a lifetime warranty... and my lifetime has yet to expire and I am proving that by talking to you on the phone. We argue for a time...

....

...

..

.

She returns with a bright idea. Take a picture of the manufacturing date stamp on the operator and prove to her I own my house!!! What... I tell her to f*** off. Ever here of identity theft I say! I won't send my HUD or tax returns to anyone let alone some moron in a far away land to prove that I have a home that I own with a f***ed up garage door opener in it. I tell her I want to speak to her boss.

He is not in and I leave my number.

I miss the call... but on my phone he reads me the riot act. I am deciding which firearm to use, on the garage door opener, and I have a moment of clarity. HUD closing statements are not exactly foriegn to me... The mother f***er wants one... I'll just make one!!! So I make one up! I cross off a bunch of information as if it is personal and fax it too them. A few days pass and I get a call. It is Genie and they want to talk about fixing my opener!!! Oh yeah!

I get a new "girl" on the phone and she once again explains the process, but I am in now! She goes on about what I am to do with the part. What part? I stop her. The part we sent you! What part? We get to arguing again!

Okay she says, so we did not send you a part. No you did not. Where would you like the part sent? What part? We start again. After a lengthy exchange we agree that they are to replace the entire motor unit. Okay fine. "Sir, what's your credit card number?" What? This is a warranty problem! Yes sir, we cover parts and labor, but not shipping, she says. We start fighting again... I am beginning to think this is my wife on the other end and she is f***ing with me!!! How can the cost of shipping the part not be included in the cost of the part. She puts me on hold!

Holding...

Holding..

Holding.

I am feeling my chest tighten and she gets back on the phone. Sir, this is Tuesday, she says. Okay, its Tuesday. I am sorry sir but we just started inventory 3 hours ago and we can't ship any parts until we stop inventory! So when will that be? In a week or so, but since you have to wait I will waive the shipping charges!!!

I don't care anymore. Do whatever you need to do, just get my door fixed!

Wednesday!

A man calls me from Genie. Hello sir I understand you have a problem with your door! Yep!! Who are you. I am the repair man. Genie told me that I can't get the parts for two weeks, why are you calling me? To fix your door. Okay, I don't understand but okay. What is your address. Blah... blah! I need your credit card number. What for? Because Genie won't pay me if your garage door does not open and it is your fault. It is not my fault though, I am not a f***ing moron, the f***ing machine is shorted... get it. Well sir it is because you diagnosed your own machine. WHAT! I have a f***ing life warranty they tell me and the f***er is burning up breakers; all I have diagnosed is that the f***ing pile of **** does not work. Sorry sir but we need your credit card number and an agreement to pay if Genie does not or we won't come!

F*** YOU!

I call Genie back. Your repair man is a criminal, and I am calling the attorney general about your warranty practice. "Does this mean you don't want a repair man, she says!" I think to myself there has got to be a movie deal in this. No I don't want the f***ing repair man, I will fix it myself!!!

Thank you for calling Genie sir, have a nice day.

Two weeks go by and the nice delivery man pulls up and gives me a couple of boxes. I look at the boxes, Genie fulfillment center, it says.

I open the boxes.... They sent me TWO garage door openers!

Cheers my friend, I hope you get your drawers! -Ray

They sent you enough for two lifetimes!

They thought "a miserable bastard like him is certain to outlive two of us" :rotfl:

Nice one Ray...brightened my day :D

*Does this individual collect his payment from you all in a reasonable manner??? Many truly reputable companies will wait and charge your payment once the ordered item is on the way. If he can collect his money in a timely manner and without delay and then take his sweet time getting your product to you, that should tell you something. :rotfl:

Haha, love this! Ray, I felt my chest tightening up just reading your story. Prez, that was icing on the cake!

Certainly brightened my day as well. I haven't had a cigar in three days because of tonsil issues, anyone else run into that?

Hope the Chasedor works out for you all, I had thoughts of getting some shelves but certainly won't unless all of this gets resolved.
