redlir Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Just had a PLPC and have to say that I'm not overly excited about it.I'm really looking forward to the Bolis I have bought. Seems that most people agree on those. I picked up a box of Bolivar PC's locally today on a whim. Looking forward to trying them later this week. Monte 4's ( when they're on) and the Punch Royal Selections are definitely at the top of my list.. dip 4's were nice too. I remember loving the Punch ones though.. it seems like almost every cigar I gravitate to, gets discontinued lol. ( sorry guys it's all my fault!)
Laxman Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I just smoked a boli pc, had set it down for 90 days and I have to say I am glad I bought two psp boxes at the time. Wow what a smoke! PLPC's are tasty but I have to say for me the boli is the king.
El Presidente Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 I just smoked a boli pc, had set it down for 90 days and I have to say I am glad I bought two psp boxes at the time. Wow what a smoke! PLPC's are tasty but I have to say for me the boli is the king. The Boli hits its stride early in its lifecycle. The PLPC are good (solid) young but come into their own with time.
winelover Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I voted in no particular order: - SLR for the addictive honeyed taste and can usually find boxes with a little age on them - PLPC for the fantastic caramel that develops after at least 3 yrs. My advice is not to smoke these young and ideally at 5yrs. - Monte4 - well actually Monte Petit Tubos which I sometimes buy as singles here in the UK and have always found the quality to be top notch and I think they benefit from being in the tubes tightly bound by cedar.
winelover Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Been pretty disappointed in PLPCs. Not bad, but can't see why people rave about them so much. I wondered until I smoked one with 5 years age on it and was totally spell bound, one of the best smokes I have had in recent years.
scrot Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Bolivar has been my favorite PC hands down. Not that I've tried too many, but damn those are good cigars.
ryans Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 the Saint Luis Rey Petit Coronas are one of my absolute favorite cigars! You can never go wrong with a Bolivar though...
tmac77 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Monte 4's first CC I ever had and still my favorite Pc.... although the PLPC's are now a close second
tcbc Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I will preface my vote by saying I am relatively new to CC's but my vote goes to the Monte 4. I am rapidly burning through a box of Jun 08 #4's and am hard pressed to believe there could be a much better PC out there. I am anxiously awaiting a HQ box of Punch Petit Corona Del Punch - OPM MAR 09 from the Czar to do some comparisons. Aging is pretty tough for me at this point but I plan on building a nice stock from the Czar to make that happen.
BatFastard Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Can't beat a PLPC when it's on. My favourite cigar hands down.
Firewiz25 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Boli PC, Partagas and Monte #4 are my top 3. I have recenlty started really enjoying the PLPC, great flavor profile that fits me well.
Lotusguy Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 After seeing all those votes for the BPC, I just ordered a box - hope I don't get an ammonia bomb
CohibaBehike Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Cohiba, Monte, and Ramon. No order, but man was that tough coming to just three options. This is my favorite size of cigar to smoke and most PC's of every brand always seem to be some of my favorites!
Samuli Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Bolivar, h.upmann and Monte. Monte 4 is my favourite when it´s on, but too often it´s not. Benefit from ageing +5 years.
CBL Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Just had an amazing Diplomaticos No. 4! My god why would they want to discontinue these? The marketing for these (relatively) cheap smokes could write itself! I smoked it in a LCDH lounge today and I'm pretty sure I was one of the only students to enter those doors in a long time and probably one of the only few that went straight for the Dips! They should market these to younger and "poorer" smokers Also picked up a ridiculously dark and oily PLPC! Hope to smoke that one soon as well!
Aksan Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 cohiba siglo 2, monte 4, Boli pc All all wonderfull cigars
cigcars Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 After seeing all those votes for the BPC, I just ordered a box - hope I don't get an ammonia bomb Yes - it seems that is becoming more and more common - ammonia bombs...no doubt due to the rushing out of more supplies of our beloved smokes to eagerly awaiting customers sooner than required.
Lotusguy Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Yes - it seems that is becoming more and more common - ammonia bombs...no doubt due to the rushing out of more supplies of our beloved smokes to eagerly awaiting customers sooner than required. I picked up a box - they smell delicious - no horse piss here Guess I got lucky. LRE Mar10 box code.
laficion Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Punch PC and Bolivar PC , for me, great smokes every time.
BradNC Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I've never had a PC. Guess I had better start thinking about adding some.
smokem Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 PLPC, BPC, Siglo II and Monte 4 are among my favorites. Love the size and the list, reminds me of some I should still try. Also the Dip 4s, should get a box before they're all gone.
fred170 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I can't believe nobody has voted for Vegueros. ...or the SCDLH Principe...which use to be my favourite
headstand Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Yes - it seems that is becoming more and more common - ammonia bombs...no doubt due to the rushing out of more supplies of our beloved smokes to eagerly awaiting customers sooner than required. Put me with the Bolivar fans. Still, bad things sometimes happen - like an hour ago I had to put down a BPC ammonia bomb. Aroma at cold should have started the warning bells ringing. Ugh. But quickly remedied with a fine Bolivar Coronas Junior. Ahh, balance restored. Of note: I vote BPC, Dip4, PLPC like many others.
