My dear RS 11's are all gone. The flavor, aromas, size - all amazing. It was my go to smoke.

Having only had a few other CG's in my life - JL1, SLR A and Siglo IV - I can't really remember profiles of each. I'd love to hear your thoughts on recommendations of a CG that may come close to flavor profiles of the RS11, any recommendations you guys might have.

My favorite cigar profiles that I just love are the Trini Reyes, PSP2, RASS and Mag 48 EL

Thanks everyone!

I can only mention two more that I have experience in: the Mag 46's (probably my favorite in the vitola) as well as the HDM Epi. #1. Those two plus the ones you mentioned are basically the 7 CG's in my rotation.

I've had luck with the next vitola down- marevas. I enjoy the Boli PC's, Dip 4's, and PLPC's and would rank them in that order as top 3.

The 08' Siglo IV's are a bit stronger, slightly milk chocolately, less fresh cut grass, and overall more refined in my opinion. Can't go wrong.

I'll also second the Bolivar PC recommendation, a favorite: barnyard, sweet soil, and a touch of citrus in the backround. For a shorter smoke in a similar format go with the Boli Coronas Junior, just went through an 08' box, nothing short of outstanding, consistant throughout the box.

RIP RS11. I got one and a half box left...

Give the mag46 a chance. Especially some 08´s...

Sadly you just can't replace the Punch RS 11. My favorite CG as well. Stock up on them whenever and wherever you can find them. There are other good CGs mentioned above, but I still prefer the RS11.

Not like the RS11, and slightly thinner at 44 ring, I'd consider giving the Bolivar Corona Extra a try.

Re: BCE. I must agree. Do yourself a favor! ;) And the Mag 46. Great cigar!

Don't give up on the RS No. 11. They're still out there. It's one of my favorite CG's. In fact, I have more boxes of these than any other CG. My second favorite is the Mag 46, but it's not really comparable. The Punch has a fruity, tangy quality like no other. They age beautifully, too. I'm smoking from 1999 boxes that are superb.

RAFAEL GONZALES CORONAS EXTRA - DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER

I've had only a few singles of these but I agree.

Now I'm kicking myself for procrastinating on getting a box.

Gone for good.

The RGCE is a fantastic cigar...another one of my favorites...but like the RS11, it is now discontinued. I pick these up to when and where I can find them. Soon enough like the RS11 they will be nearly impossible to find at a reasonable price.

Big fan of the RyJ EX#3. One of the few RyJs I buy.

The new RA corona gorda coming out this year should be most interesting- I hope.

Hey bassman:

Is that the older EX#3's, the recent EX#3's or both you are talking about. I'm not big on romeo's either but I have never given the EX#3 a try.

Looking through my supply. I noticed that I haven't purchased any Corona Gordas in quite some time? Even though it is one of my favorite sizes.

Thanks to all for your reply's

SLR Series A's

Great Corona Gorda.

H. Upmann 46 or Punch Punch. But there is good Punch Punch and bad.

Oh yeah those Punch Punch's are sweet, if you get a great batch.

Other than the RS11, the best recent production Corona Gordas I have are the SLR Serie A and the H. Upmann Magnum 46.

Cohiba Siglo 4, HdM Epicure no. 1, and RyJ Exibiccion # 3 are also very good, but just a notch below the above.

I think its hard to really go wrong with this size. The RS11 is/was certainly the all-star of the group IMO, but CGs have a really deep bench.

The loss of the RS#11 is an absolute travesty of justice ... but i am over it now

My personal views are if you are going to ditch a classic ,at least scale back production ,or replace it with a new classic ,it can be done people :D

Cheers Oz ;)

I discovered the EX#3s via an excellent box from 06 & subsequently bought two more 06 boxes. Quite frankly, it's the only year I've smoked so can't opine on newer or older ones.
