  1. I ordered a box of H Upman HC, two boxes of Por Larranaga Panetelas, they are adding 3 RyJ #2. The order was delayed, so they added 3 RyJ Petite Churchills. All for $208 or $2.56 per stick! I love HUHCs, I am looking forward to the rest. I hope the panetelas aren't plugged!
  2. Greetings again dear friends! I'd like to take the opportunity to acknowledge @Chef and @Psiman for their enthusiasm and encouragement for this particular Video Review Series. I sincerely hope you enjoy them and they can assist you with your cigar journey. Again, like all my other past Series, I'd like to say that speaking 'on-the-fly' about cigars is certainly a challenge and I will need to acknowledge errors throughout this series (so again bare with me). Also, please feel free to share your thoughts on these cigars in this thread. If you have views or opinions contrary to what has been stated, please feel welcome to express your thoughts and say so, after all, my own views here is intended to serve as a guide.
  3. So I managed to get a box of these Vintage Habanos 2007 Por Larrañaga RE Asia Pacific Robustos de Larrañaga, anxiously awaiting their arrival. I could not find that much info about this RE Release. Would appreciate the community's comments.
  4. this one looked special...very nicely made with a beautiful aroma. like strong sweet hay\honey. cold draw, nice draw with some cedar sweetness. 1st third Floral and cedar notes. the fruit notes come in the mix soon after. medium bodied at best and burn...impeccable. then i get dry sweet hay\honey notes come in. its rich and very creamy at this point. this stays a bit until it changes to more coffee, cream, honey. at the end of the 1st third, some nice buttery notes. nice! 2n third still medium bodied. notes of caramel start coming in but more like in the background the rest stays pretty much the same with a tad more depth to the flavors. really enjoying this one..taking my time! final third the caramel flavor is now in the front, its a bit darker, but not harsh in anyway. pretty stays like this with some buttery notes added in the mix halfway and right to the end! excellent! this was one of the best of these i've ever had. time 1h15 score 96\100
  5. I've had about 10 from this box so far, all that I could smoke have been great. A few have been plugged beyond repair. Fortunately this example had no such issue. They are about 2 1/2 years old now, about 1 year of that in my possession. This box was my second of these, and certainly not the last. This example started off smooth and rich. Not as sweet as past examples, more musty earthy with the sweetness in the background. Slow, occasional draws are providing plenty of thick, cool smoke. More of the same into the second third, plenty of smoke, a bit more sweetness. Salt lingers on the lips. I love that. My dad comments that the smoke smells like "Wet Canvas". Overall very rich and smooth, no rough edges or harsh flavors, very pleasant. Wind picks up, so a few touch ups are required into the last third. Still plenty of thick, tasty smoke. I'm trying to space each draw 45 to 75 seconds apart to make sure the cigar doesn't get too hot. Sweetness remains strong, more brown sugar than the typical caramel, but that could just be my pallet after a big dinner. Overall a perfect "dessert" after a large meal. about 50 min smoking time. Great little sticks.
  6. Hi guys. I'm looking to splurge a bit and buy my first regional box. What would you recommend? Por Larranaga Belicosos Extra? Saint Luis Rey Pacificos? Juan Lopez #4? or Punch Sabrosos??? How are they lately?
  7. Por Larranaga Petit Corona, Cab 50 from 2012 Checking up on the development of this Cab50, to see if they are already coming up to smoke. The Ashes. Size: Mareva (Petit Corona) Smoking time: 0:45 Location: outside on my patio, no wind Construction and burn were good. Slightly uneven burn. Mild to medium strength cigar. Taste is some chocolate, with honey, sweet notes on the retrohale. Very little harsh tones, the taste is slowly increasing in strength throughout the sigar. From my point of view, the taste is fairly similar to the Hoyo linea classica, more specifically Des Dieux, although slightly lighter in my opinion. A little development throughout the cigar becoming slightly less mild towards the end. Verdict: 7.5/10 A good small Cuban cigar with beautiful delicate taste, which I believe will get better with age.
  8. When it comes to Por Larranaga it seems all the chatter was towards the PLPC, and since that size of vitola isn't my bag, I never tried any offerings from that particular marca. That was until I ordered the 12 Days of Christmas sampler. Pl was the cornerstone of that sampler making up 4 of the 12 cigars ( if I remember correctly). Initially I thought the Prez might have been cleaning out his storage room, but man was i ever wrong. Each and everyone was a rock star. Thanks Prez for putting together sampler. I look forward to several more in the future! New PL Fan
